ColourPop She's A Rainbow Palette ♡ Swatches

Today I am sharing with you a swatches of the ColourPop She's A Rainbow Palette. This is a pre-made palette containing 24 eyeshadows in three finishes, including:

Pressed Powder Shadow, described as a highly pigmented shadow that feels ultra-velvety and silky. The formula contains a combination of soft powders that adheres easily to the eyes, giving a soft focus effect and it claims to blends smoothly and evenly.

There are 12 Pressed Powder Shadows in this palette.

Pressed Pigment, described as a vibrant and creamy formula that aims to create an intense look.

There are 9 Pressed Pigments in this palette.

Pressed Glitter, described as a self-adhering pressed glitter that applies effortlessly onto the skin and stays on all day and night.

There are 3 Pressed Glitters in this palette.

Whatever finishes, I love ColourPop eyeshadows, they are affordable and the formulas are so creamy and velvety, blends like a dream and stay on all day. I also had previous great experience with their Pressed Glitters formula, they are so amazing! The glitters grab onto the skin without having to add glue, it has a little bit of fallouts during application, but the glitters stays on for very long hours and it's really impressive.

This is one of those build-your-own palettes, except that the colours are pre-made, but you do still have to put the palette together when it arrives as it all comes in single packets of eyeshadows and an empty palette.

I had fun putting together this palette and I love the colours included. The only annoying thing is that, the empty palette it arrived in is totally different to the one shown on their website. The one I have received is okay, it's not ugly and it's not the prettiest, but I much prefer the one shown on the website with the palm trees. That one has such a summer vibe and it goes perfectly with the colours in this palette.

ColourPop She's A Rainbow Palette includes these shades:

Brick Road, described as a vivid pinky red.

Sandbar, described as a matte hot pink.

Big Sugar, described as a bright bubblegum pink with a silver sheen.

Worth It, described as a baby pink.

Hard Place, described as a bright red orange.

Sunkiss'd, described as a neon tangerine.

Boombayah, described as a vivid orange.

Centerfold, described as a matte vibrant coral.

Palooza, described as a bright yellow with a copper duochrome shift.

Sweet Spot, described as a matte primary yellow.

So Meta, described as a metallic marigold.

Totally Buggin', described as a matte butterscotch yellow.

Mary Jane, described as a metallic chartreuse.

No Scrubs, described as a pastel lime.

Fyre, described as a holographic lime.

Looking' Fresh, described as a pale mint.

Right Tempo, described as a dark blue with silver flecks.

Fine China, described as a matte vibrant cobalt blue.

Tide Pool, described as a metallic cerulean.

Moonlite, described as a matte baby blue.

Do or Dough, described as a metallic bright lavender with blue duochrome flip.

Seeing Stars, described as a vibrant blue violet.

Hold Me Down, described as a metallic vibrant pink with blue flecks.

Kittenfish, described as a matte cool lavender.

Glow Recipe Review ♡ Pineapple-C Bright Serum, Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask, Avocado Melt Sleeping Mask

I have always thought that Glow Recipe is overrated and I see their products as an expensive version of Korean skincare.

My experience with this brand started with their Watermelon Jelly Sheet Mask, which I think it has been discontinued. I first tried their products in September 2018 and that was when Glow Recipe is not available in New Zealand yet, which means shopping on their website has to go through YouShop, resulting in expensive shipping and overall costs. (Nowadays you can buy Glow Recipe at Mecca).

I remembered the Watermelon Jelly Sheet Mask was very expensive, it was somewhere around USD $8, but I still wanted to try it so badly because everyone in the beauty world raves about this mask and I love watermelon.

So, I had a lot of expectations, especially for such an expensive mask, but it end up being very disappointing and that is when I start to question this brand. I have tried the Watermelon Jelly Sheet Mask three times and all three times I was disappointed. I didn't like that it's so slippery that it slides down all the time, it feels drying while the mask is on and after removable, it felt like the serum just sits on your skin, like it doesn't absorb into your skin at all.

Since then I have tried a few other products from Glow Recipe and my feelings towards this brand hasn't changed. The fact that I always buy their products is because their packagings are so cute, but every time I try a new product from them and it didn't work out for me, I feel disappointed.

The only product that I have tried from Glow Recipe and really liked is the Pineapple serum.

GLOW RECIPE PINEAPPLE-C BRIGHT SERUM (NZD $84 - MECCA) is described as a lightweight serum that soothes and brighten skin. It is suitable for all skin types and all skin concerns such as dullness, uneven texture, dryness and redness.

This serum includes ingredients such as:

Pineapple Juice, which helps to brighten, smooth and hydrate skin.

Vitamin C, which aims to brightens and provides antioxidants.

Chamomile, which calms and smoothes skin, creating a gentle formula for sensitive skin.

Firstly, I LOVE THE PACKAGING! The bottle is shaped like a pineapple and it's really cute. Secondly, I LOVE THE SCENT! Totally weird but it smells like pineapple dipped in soy sauce, I always eat my pineapples dipped in soy sauce, so the scent has a special place in my heart.

As for the product itself, I have used about 30% and I like that it soothes my skin, I use the pineapple serum before bed and I would wake up in the morning with hydrating skin. My skin feels so soft and after two weeks use, my skin is visibly brighter.

GLOW RECIPE WATERMELON GLOW SLEEPING MASK (NZD $38 - 30ML - MECCA) is described as a skin smoothing, radiance boosting nightly sleeping mask that gently exfoliate and refine pores. It is suitable for all skin types and targets skin concerns such as pores, dryness and oiliness.

This sleeping mask includes ingredients such as:

Watermelon Extract, which contains anti-inflammatory properties to soothe irritation, hydrates and delivers essential vitamins.

Hyaluronic Acid, which hydrates skin by holding up to 1,000 times its weigh in moisture.

AHA, which is a blend of lactic acid and glycolic acid that gently exfoliates and hydrates to reveal smoother, brighter skin over time by removing dead surface skin cells.

Peony Root, which brighten and soothes skin.

My thoughts towards this sleeping mask is quite neutral, it doesn't make my skin breakouts like a lot of people claims, but it also doesn't wow me and makes me wants to re-purchase. I find that it does hydrates my skin and makes my skin bouncy and smooth the morning after I applied. I am not a fan of the scent though, I expected sweet, juicy watermelon, but it smells quite artificial.

GLOW RECIPE AVOCADO MELT SLEEPING MASK (NZD $38 - 30ML - MECCA) is described as a firming, moisturising mask that alleviates dry flaky skin overnight. It is suitable for Dry, Sensitive and Normal skin type and it targets skin concern such as anti-aging and dryness.

This sleeping mask includes ingredients such as:

Avocado, which restore moisture and collagen in the skin.

Manuka Honey, which refreshes and revitalizes stressed out skin.

PHA, which gently exfoliates during sleep for softer and smoother skin.

Kaolin, which extracts impurities from he kin without irritating to decongest pores and absorb excess oil.

This one has a thick cream texture which doesn't feel heavy on the skin, but it does gets oily. I find that it doesn't do much for me, probably because I have oily skin and this one is suitable for dry and normal skin. I do get dry patches around my chin and my forehead sometimes, but this one didn't 'restore moisture' as much as the Watermelon Sleeping Mask.

There are four types of fruit themes from Glow Recipe and so far I have tried Watermelon, Pineapple and Avocado. I still want to try their Blueberry collection despite my negative feelings towards the brand. I want to try it all to make my final decision on the brand.

Good thing is that Glow Recipe products doesn't make my skin breakout or ruin my skin, it either does nothing to me at all or it does something, but not to my expectation. My main reason for thinking that this brand is overhyped is because they are SO EXPENSIVE, all their products are expensive and you can literally get similar or better products for way cheaper pricing. A lot of Korean skincare out there are more affordable and does a way better job. I always get the feeling that Glow Recipe is overhyped probably because they pay a lot of big influencers to rave about their products.

ColourPop Disney Design Collection ♡ Review + Swatches

This is definitely a long overdue review! The ColourPop Disney Designer Collection was launched in 2018 and I literally have this post saved in my draft for over a year now.

Since then, ColourPop have launched two other Disney Collections, Disney Villains and Disney Midnight Masquerade and they are to launch the Disney Fronzen 2 Collection on 15 November 2019 which I am SO excited about!

Anyway, during this time I have been using the It's A Princess Thing eyeshadow palette a lot, I like that the colors are quite wearable during the day. As for the other products from this collection, I have tried the lipgloss, the lux lipstick and the super shock shadow.

The ColourPop It's A Princess Thing Palette contains 15 eyeshadow shades in a mixture of naturals, pinks, corals, golds, silvers and purples.

There are 3 different finishes including matte, metallic and satin.

The shades included are:

Abu, described as a matte intense warm brown.

Triton, described as a sand with golden sheen.

Grumpy, described as a matte dusty salmon.

Juju, described as a matte warm rosy pink.

Chip, described as a matte soft beige nude.

Thingamabob, described as a vibrant metallic silver.

One Kiss?, described as a metallic bright coppery gold.

Fairy Godmother, described as a metallic bright coral.

Ray, described as a metallic champagne.

Prince Charming, described as an ivory pearl with green duochrome.

Midnight Curfew, described as a black sprinkled with silver glitter.

Beast, described as a deep warm brown topped with gold glitter.

Magic Carpet, described as a blackened plum.

Poison Apple, described as a metallic pinky violet.

Enchanted Rose, described as a rich metallic rose.

The first row is my most-used.

There are three Ultra Glossy Lips in the ColourPop Disney Designer Collection and the shades are:

Bibbidi, described as clear with a golden sheen.

Bobbidi, described as a soft coral.

Boo, described as a warm rose.

These glosses are described as all shine, no shimmer, the formula is enriched with jojoba oil to moisturise, nourish and provide a juicy, fuller-looking lips look.

There are six Disney Princess Lux Lipsticks, but I was only able to get Cinderella during its first launched. By now I have a few other Disney Princess Lipsticks, but they are all part of a set which I want to review separately.

Cinderella Lux Lipstick is described as a true blue pink and the formula is described as creamy, lightweight, long-wearing with rich pigmentation.

The ColourPop Disney Collection contains six Super Shock Shadows and I have the shade So This Is Love, which is the only one I find wearable for any occasion.

So This Is Love Super Shock Shadow is described as a soft pink with a frosted finish.

I have always been a big fan of the ColourPop Super Shock Shadow formula, they are creamy with a one-swipe pigmentation, no creasing, fading or fallout and they literally wear all day.

Apart from the items shown above, I also have the individual princess kits in Belle, Ariel and Snow White. I may or may not review these sets, but I am definitely reviewing the Disney Midnight Masquerade Collection which I bought recently. Those Lux Liquid Lipstick formula is AMAZING and I can't wait to share with you my thoughts and swatches.
