Current Beauty Favourites ♥

I don't usually write monthly favourite posts because A) I don't change my favourites that often and B) my monthly favourites aren't that interesting, compare to some bloggers. Anyway, I feel like some of my beauty items deserve a show off ~ Today I am showing you my current beauty products.

I find it annoying having to touch up during the day with the little sponge MAC included in their oil blotting powder, so I purchase an Eco Tools Rectractable Kabuki Brush from iHerb and I have been loving it ever since the purchase. I love how it has a cap to protect the bristles being damaged and or getting dirty and the brush is small enough to store in any handbag. It's very handy and I also love how soft the bristles is.

I like to switch my foundations around during the week, but I haven't gone a few days without using my favourite foundation of all time: MAC Pro Longwear Foundation, I wear the shade NC25. My favourite things about this foundation is it's long wearing for me and it gives a full coverage without making me look cakey or feel heavy. One pump of the MAC Pro Longwear Foundation is enough for my whole face, I sometimes apply with a Beauty Blender or xoBeauty's Flat Top Synthetic Face Brush from Shannon Harris' beauty line.

On days that I don't feel like wearing full on makeup, I like to use theBalm BalmShelter Tinted Moisturizer instead of a foundation. I have only purchased this BB cream early July and I have used it at least twice a week for nearly four weeks, right now it is giving me such a good impression. I have previously tried other non Asian brands BB cream such as Maybelline and L'Oreal and I feel like they are nothing compared to theBalm's tinted moisturizer. I wear the shade Light / Medium and it's a perfect match for NC25!

Remember my Etude House Lock n' Summer collection haul in mid July? I did a few swatches of the Etude House Lock n' Summer Cushion Blusher and I was disappointed as it hardly shows up on my skin. Few other bloggers were having the same problem so I thought it must be the cushion form fault. Anyway, I tried it on my face and instead of not showing up on my skin at all, it actually gave my cheek that natural flush. There's two shades of this blusher, coral and pink. I have the pink one and when applied on my cheek, it appears as if I have just came back from a run.

For the past few months I have been using Benefit's Porefessional Primer, but it's now finished :( *Boo Hoo* time to buy myself a full size maybe?! I have since been using the Dr. Young Anti Pore Pore Eraser which I have received in my MemeBox makeup edition. I love how smooth the pore eraser made my face feel and my foundations / BB cream always goes on smoothly after. I don't wear makeup in the weekend, but I always wake up with redness around my nose area, I would then apply a thin layer of the Dr. Young Anti Pore Pore Eraser to minimise the redness and the big pores.

I have seen people around carry these tubes of Lucas Papaw Ointment every where with them and I never knew what's the big deal?! No one talks about this products but everyone has one and everyone carries one with them in their bags. Okay, okay ~ By now you would've know I am always late on everything, late on finding out new products or even products that are not new. So when my mom bought me one of these Papaw ointment, I refused to keep it! LOl, who would have known I turn out to really, REALLY love it! It seems like Lucas Papaw Ointment always comes to the rescue when I am in trouble, for example: when I accidental cut myself or when it's freezing outside, I have super chapped lips and I forgot my lip balms.

Model Co Shine Ultra Lip Gloss is my absolutely favourite lip products of all time! I find myself grabbing for it everyday, even on days that I am not wearing any makeup.

Ever since I have learn to use a bronzer properly, I haven't stopped using a bronzer even thou it's winter at the moment. So... I am proud to say... I am an all-year-bronze-girl?! LOl, still pretty yellow haha! I have previously used NARS Laguna, but lately I find myself grabbing for Benefit Hoola Bronzer more than any other, so yeah, Benefit just made it into my FAV!

This monday I have done a first impression post of Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm and I haven't had it for long but I love how moisturizing it feels on my lips! I have been loving and using Comfort Clear - the clear lip balm on a daily basis.

Was it Nicole Guerriero who raved about the L'Oreal Magic Lumi Highlighter? I am not sure... I bought this highlighter due to some raves from a well-known beauty guru and I remember the Youtuber as Nicole, cause she loves her L'Oreal products and she's one of my most watch Youtuber. Anyway, like I said I have bought the highlighter based on some great reviews and I have been loving it myself as well! I like to apply this under my eyes to brighten up and cover my dark circles.

Last but not least, The Body Shop Lip Scruff! Before I purchased the Body Shop lip scuff, I have been using the Lush lip scrub in a little jar, while I love the yummy taste, I did not enjoy a thing about having to dip my fingers into the jar, I thought it was gross. I was hoping to find something... like a lip scrub in a tube and I did YAYY! I love this lip scruff but don't love the overpriced price tag >.<

Any products I have mentioned above is your favourite beauty item too? Share with me in the comment below!

First Impression ♥ Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm

I don't know what is it with me and lip balms lately, I have this urge to buy all types of lip balms that is available on the market. I have been collecting a lot of tinted lip balms, unscented lip balms, weird tasting lip balms and so on...

Two weeks ago I have picked up three Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balms from feelunique.com while they were having a 3 for 2 promotion. So if you purchase three Pixi lip balms or any Pixi products, you only have to pay for two and that is some great deal, cause these Pixi shea butter lip balms aren't so cheap.

Before I purchase these three lip balms, I wasn't familiar with the brand Pixi at all. I have came across pictures of their products on the internet but I have never heard of anyone raves or even talk about them. From looking at their website, I think they are an UK based cosmetics company?! I am actually not sure because I can't find an "about us" section on their website and from looking at the products on their website, it doesn't look like something I would usually purchase.

My first impression of the Pixi website is... it looks budget >.< and expensive! But the actual product itself is another story! **Don't judge a book by its cover**

There are six colors available to purchase for the Pixi Shea Butter range, most of the time a lot of these colors are sold out! I managed to pick up Pixi Pink, Coral Crush (both are tinted balms) and Comfort Clear (which is pretty much a clear balm).

My first impression upon receiving the Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balms was... cutest packagings ~ Simple but adorable at the same time! Each tube comes packaged with a cap that matches its lip balm color on the inside and each lip balm comes shaped in a flat top, which makes the application so much easier to apply.

Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm - Coral Crush
Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm - Pixi Pink
Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm - Comfort Clear
Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm swatches - Coral Crush & Pixi Pink

As you can see in the swatches above, one was taken at night time with flash on and another was in day time without flash, both shows the tinted lip balms (Coral Crush & Pixi Pink) being super pigmented. Comfort Clear is pretty much a clear balm, so it doesn't show any color.

Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balms are described as a multi-tasking miracle lip balm which awaken lips with a formula that is rich but lightweight and gives a gorgeous wash of color to the lips. It is described as a perfect pick-me-up any time balm and it is packed full of beneficial ingredients which can soothes lips immediately & nourishes them long term.

These balms includes beneficial ingredients such as shea butter which nourishes the skin and Vitamin E which protects the skin. Simply apply these shea butter lip balms onto lips and layering for more color intensity if using the tinted balms.

I am currently loving Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balms in Comfort Clear, the clear one. The formula is quite buttery, but not heavy and it is very moisturising. Remember when everyone was crazy about the Maybelline Baby Lips? Well that can't even compare to the Pixi Shea Butters.

Pixi Shea Butters are available to purchase from feelunique and beautybay, they are USD $14.00 each and each tube of lip balms contains 4g of products.

Overall, I am impressed with these lip balms. ^-^ Next time I want to get the tinted balm in Natural Rose, a gorgeous soft rosey mauve shade. Most of the time I checked, it's always sold out... So *fingers cross* hopefully next time I order it's available.

Do you own any Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balms? What do you think of them?

MAC Coral Bliss Lipstick ♥ Review + Swatches

MAC Lipstick

Can we all just take a moment to admire this beautiful lipstick. ♥ :")

I have been wearing MAC Coral Bliss almost everyday since I purchased it off Nordstrom and now I can call it one of my favourites.

MAC Coral Bliss was first released in the MAC Cremesheen + Pearl collection in 2012 with seven other lipsticks, it has been a permanent lipstick since the start. Coral Bliss is a gorgeous summery pink coral shade with a cremesheen finish. MAC have described it as a frosted light coral, I am not sure how MAC came up with the 'frosted' name as it is no where near shimmery or frosty.

Coral Bliss is a cremesheen finish which is a creme-based lipstick that offers bright full color with a soft shine. I wouldn't say this is very pigmented, but I like that the color is buildable, it can be worn as sheer with a hint of coral and a little glossy look or you can swipe the lipstick a few times to build an opaque coverage. With it being a creme-based lipstick, it is very easy to apply and glides on smoothly; for some reason, I can't seem to apply Coral Bliss evenly on my lips, maybe my lipstick-applying-skill is not good enough haha ~

I must be really missing the summer season, right now I totally envy the Americans in togs haha ~ That explains why I have been crazy obsessed with coral shades these past few months.

I absolutely adore MAC Coral Bliss, it's a beautiful everyday wear natural looking lipstick. But the downside is, it only wore max two hours for me. *boo hoo* I would get so annoyed if I work a busy retail job and having to re-apply every two hours.

Swatch of MAC Coral Bliss

In the above picture of the swatch on my lips, I have swiped MAC Coral Bliss across a few times to create the opaque look. As you can see it is showing as a beautiful pink coral with soft shine. I think Coral Bliss would look good on light to medium skin tones, I am NC25.

Anyway, Coral Bliss lipstick can be purchased from MAC Cosmetics (USD $16.00) / Nordstrom (USD $16.00) - both sites have to use YouShop or any mail forwarding companies if you live in New Zealand or outside of US. New Zealanders can also purchase over any MAC counters throughout NZ (NZD $40.00).

So... Do you own MAC Coral Bliss? Are you a coral lipstick fan?

Drop a comment below and share your thoughts with me. ^-^

Review ♥ Tony Moly Latte Art Cappuccino Cream-In Scrub

Coffee junkie? Skincare freak? Sucker for cute product packagings? OMG You need to try this: Tony Moly Latte Art Cappuccino Cream-In Scrub!

Even if you say no to all three question marks above, it would be nice to try this scrub anyway, it smells so sooo nice and freshing and this is one of those products worth trying out, if you enjoys trying out new things.

There is another version of the Tony Moly Latte Art Cappuccino Cream-In Scrub which comes in a white coffee mug instead of this brown one. I believe that one is an old version and the one I am reviewing today is the new version with new packaging. I am not sure if there is a difference between the two, but from all the reviews I have read of others bloggers, these two products are pretty much the same with different packagings. (Please correct me if I am wrong).

I don't think you can purchase the old version anymore, I may be wrong thou, but because every time I type in "Tony Moly Latte Art" into the eBay search bar, it only shows the new brown packaging.

There is also another Tony Moly latte art product which is the Tony Moly Latte Art Milk-Cacao Pore Pack, it comes in a white coffee mug with one of those swirl nutella bottles and that is a total different thing to the scrub I am showing you today.

Packaging:
Tony Moly Latte Art Cappuccino Cream-In Scrub comes packaged in a cute little coffee mug with a transparency body which allows you to see how much product is left in the mug. The cap is a dark brown color with a white and brown swirl prints printed on the top of the cap, if looking far away with the cap twisted closed, it looks kind of realistic.

There is a spatula slides on top of the cap which is suppose to be the spoon that you stir your coffee with. The whole thing is made out of plastic, but it's not one of those cheap feel / looking plastic, it is actually quite sturdy and the coffee mug looks flash in a more kawaii way.

I actually quite like having a spatula that comes with your skincare products. The spatula makes the whole applying process easier without having to poke my finger into the scrub, it's not only not hygiene using your fingers but it also makes a huge mess. I also like to use the spatula to scoop out just the enough amount of scrub without wasting products.

Tony Moly Latte Art Cappuccino Cream-In Scrub contains ingredients of coffee and milk extracts and it can remove flaky, dry and dead skin cells as well as providing nutrition to the skin. The scrub is made for all skin type and as you massage it on your face, it changes color from a dark brown to an almost white-ish light brown.

Tony Moly Latte Art Cappuccino Cream-In Scrub

Texture:
The texture of the Tony Moly Latte Art Cappuccino Cream-In Scrub is very thick and gel like, the scrub itself is in a true coffee dark brown color and inside the scrub, it's filled with a bunch of white beads which Tony Moly have described them as grains.

When using the scrub, I often get this warm feeling when I first apply it on my face then it disappear within minutes as I rub the scrub on my skin in circular motion. Tony Moly have stated in their product description that when it's warming up, it is when the scrub is doing its deep cleanse into your pores. As soon as I am done with the rubbing, rinse off with warm water (I usually use this scrub in the shower), I instantly get this fresh feeling, as if I just had my morning coffee.

 Scent:
When sniffing Tony Moly Latte Art Cappuccino Cream-In Scrub from the mug, it smells bitter, as if you forgot to add sugar in your coffee. It doesn't smell bad, but it just takes some times to get used to if you are not a plain coffee drinker. Once you have apply the scrub on your face, you can smell a very fancy, rich coffee smell.

I am not a coffee addict, I don't always have to have at least one cup of coffee a day and I don't go into bad mood if I don't have my coffee in the morning; but I absolutely love this scrub! It smells amazing, the packaging is super kawaii and the scrub made my face feels very smooth after each use.

I would highly recommend anyone to try this, whether you are a coffee lover or jut neutral, if you haven't tried this yet, do it now! Oh, one last thing, don't try and eat the scrub heheh. :p

Rating:

I purchase this product from f2plus1.

My Red Carpet Look ☆ Ft. Sammydress

Have you ever wondered what you would wear to a red carpet event?

Today I have put together an outfit and makeup look which I would wear to an important event such as an award show or a glam, red carpet event.

** The dress was sent to me for review.

Dress: Sammydress

In February I was contacted by Bella from Sammydress to review this beautiful lace dress.

Sammydress is one of the largest online wholesalers which sells woman's fashion and beauty products, they offer the latest fashion styles, shoes, accessories, makeup tools and many more cool stuff at a very affordable price.

This beautiful dress they sent me is in very good quality, the dress is a scoop neck lace style with a silky dress underneath, it is a bit see-through, so it's better if worn with nude color underwear. The dress is covered with faux pearls and rhinestones, it sparkles under bright lights and it's very pretty.

This dress can be purchase here.

Now you're probably wondering why I was contacted in February and am only reviewing the dress now?! Is Kay being lazy?! Noooo, no way. ^-^ I have only received this dress few days ago, It took them five months to arrive. :o

Anyway, I did a simple makeup look to go with this elegant dress. I was debating if I wanted to go with the bright red lips or the nude lips and I end up choosing MAC Enchanted One from the Alluring Aquatic collection which launched recently. Enchanted One is a gorgeous medium peachy coral shade with a matte finish.

Products I used:
☆ Benefit Porefessional Primer
☆ MAC Pro Longwear Foundation NC25
☆ MAC Pro Longwear Concealer NC20
☆ Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Eyeshadow Duo - Cafe Au Lait 07 (to fill my brows)
☆ Benefit Stay Don't Stray Eyeshadow Primer
☆ Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette
☆ 3 Concept Eyes Gel Eyeliner - Glitter Black
☆ Maybelline Mega Plush Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara - Very Black
☆ 3 Concept Eyes Eyelash - No. 13
☆ Benefit Hoola Bronzer
☆ Etude House Lock'n Summer Cushion Blusher - PK001 Hey Yo Pink
☆ Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
☆ MAC Enchated One Lipstick

What is your dream outfits and makeup that you would wear to a red carpet event? Share your ideas with me in the comments below. ^-^

Candysan ♥ Japanese Candies, Chocolates, Sweets, Food & Drinks

I have something super amazeball to share with you lovlies tonight ^-^

It's not beauty related, but it is just as good as makeup!

Taaaa Daaaaaa! It's a Candysan haul!

Candysan is a Japan based online sweets, snacks, chocolates and cuisine store. They sell some of the most popular candies that are being sold in Japan right now.

If you are a long time reader of my blog, you would probably know that I am obsessed with Asian brands... everything?! Well mostly makeup and a lot times I buy all these Asian brands makeup just because of its packaging.

Japanese cosmetics brand Canmake is one of my favourite beauty brands, I love it because of its good quality as well as its kawaii pacakging. Well, Japanese candies and food is no difference to its makeup etc, not only are their packagings so eye-catching and adorable, their food, drinks and candies are also very tasty.

Let's just say, I am a huge fan of everything Japan! Hopefully one day I get to travel to Japan and explore the beautiful country.

Anyway, right now let's get onto this amazing haul ~

When I first started my blog I did a Japanese DIY candy post where I show you a step by step of how to make your own Japanese candy using one of these cool DIY candy packs shown above. I had so much fun writing that post and I am going to do the same thing by posting a step by step guide post to all the items shown in the above picture. If you are interested to see one of these DIYs, leave me a comment and let me know which one you would like to see first. ^-^

Oh, I am most excited about that toilet candy... LOl! I have seen so many YouTube tutorial and it seems so much fun, yet so gross. I mean, how did the Japanese came up with the idea of mixing sweets in a mini toilet and drinking from it? Hahah eww ~

Now you kind of get the idea of why I love Japanese stuff so much?! Even a pack of chips have the cutest packaging!

There are over 25 flavours of snack for the above product, on the Candysan website, it says it's called 'Petit', but I am not so sure if it's the brand name or the product name. These snack looks so yummy, I have the choco chips (tiny green tea cookies filled with milk chocolate chips) and fried snack (tiny spicy fried snack).

Ummm, hello?! Raspberry M&M! This is so amazing! We don't have such cool things in NZ.

The Mario Kart candy pack in the picture above is just a toy with one hard candy and when I opened it I thought it was the strangest thing ever. Just one candy?? Have I mentioned everything in this haul is made in Japan, except for that little toy there, it's made in China.

Awwh so many pikachu sweets ~

These Hi-Chew candies are my absolute favourite! The Asian stores in the mall sells them, but there's not a lot of yummy flavours available, so it is very nice to be able to try a new flavour, which is melon.

Another clever thing Japanese came up with, these are called Torotto and they are small baked chocolate cubes filled with chocolate cream. There's three flavours available and when I first saw these, I thought they look like small fried tofu.

Soy source pretz?! These are so yummy! OMG! If you are a fan of anything salty, you will love this.

Pokemon ramen! LOL, so cool!

& Last but not lease, Candysan sent me a pack of pocket tissues with a cute packaging.

Okay, now onto the important part. You can purchase everything shown above from Candysan, everything on their website is very affordable, snacks are as cheap as only a few cents. They ship internationally and my package arrive within one week. Everything came packed well in a box, nothing came broken.

Overall I am impressed with their customer service and most importantly, their food! Nothing was expired and everything was packed carefully.

So, did you enjoy my Candysan haul? ^-^ Now I am off to munch of these yummy stuff.
