Etude House Wonder Fun Park Collection ♡ ft. Dear Darling Soda Tints, Candy Cheek & Color Eyes

Etude House Wonder Fun Park Collection

Etude House has recently launched a new collection called Wonder Fun Park, it features a cute and fun amusement park theme and the collection contains 2 x eyeshadow palettes, 1 x highlighter, 1 x blush, 10 x lip tints, 5 x lipsticks, 2 x mascaras, 5 x glitter pigments, 2 x nail kits, 3 x makeup brushes, 2 x false lashes and 1 x hair perfume mist.

When I saw the collection on Instagram I was super excited and I wanted to get the whole collection, but I controlled myself and only bought the Day Pass Makeup Kit, the Wonder Fun Park Candy Cheek Brush and two Dear Darling Soda Tints.

Etude House Wonder Fun Park Collection features ten shades of Dear Darling Soda Tints, I have the shades in PK001 Sparkling Grapefruit Soda which came as part of the Day Pass Makeup Kit, PK003 Sweet Sugar Soda and BL601 Exciting Milky Soda.

These lip tints has a thin and lightweight texture that glides on the lips like a gloss without the stickiness, they are moisturising during wear and the colours are very pigmented.

PK001 Sparkling Grapefruit Soda looks like a neon coral in the tube and it doesn't look like a colour that I would usually pick unless if I was to buy every single shade from the range. Although it has a high pigmentation, the colour shows up on the lips as a pretty and daily wearable pinkish red.

PK003 Sweet Sugar Soda is my favourite and it is the only one that caught my attention while I was looking through the Wonder Fun Park promotional photos. In the tube PK003 looks like a rosy pink that is jam-packed with gold shimmers.

When worn on the lips, the shimmers are very obvious and they appear on the lips as big chunks on gold glitters. After four hours wear, the lip color disappeared but the shimmer remains.

BL601 Exciting Milky Soda has the exact concept as to the Berry Delicious Color in Liquid Lips in GR701 Berry Kiwi Talk Talk.

In the tube the color is shown as a light lavender grey that is loaded with pink and purple shimmers, and on the lips it first appeared as a light pink, then the longer the color stays on the lips, the darker the color turns into. The color would eventually turns into a rosy pink and the shimmer would all sit on top of the lips.

Etude House Wonder Fun Park Candy Cheek came as part of the Day Pass Makeup Kit and it can be purchased individually. This is a rainbow style blush that comes with five colours in purple, pink, yellow, orange and coral.

Rainbow highlighters was a popular trend last year and I have noticed that Korean beauty brands are just slowly catching onto the trend now.

I love the colours of Candy Cheek and I like that when swirled together, it creates a subtle peachy glow. I find that the pigmentation is very sheer and it hardly shows up on skin when doing swatches, but when applied on the cheek, the colour shown up as a healthy glow, the colour is buildable on the cheek, but it will never reach the level of "rosy cheek".

Etude House Wonder Fun Park Color Eyes in #1 Going Around On A Ferries Wheel consist of nine pastel colours that reminiscent the colours of an amusement park.

My thoughts on the Wonder Fun Park Color Eyes has gradually changed from when I first opened the package to when I actually tried the products.

I initially planned to do a swatch video, but I was flushed with disappointment as soon as I opened my package. The palette is a lot smaller compared to other eyeshadow palettes that are the same size and when swatched with an eyeshadow brush, there is no pigmentation at all! I dip my brush into the eyeshadow and I swiped on the same spot, I repeated the steps a couple of times, but there's just no colours showing?! Also, the eyeshadows are powdery and chalky and I was just overall disappointed.

It was not until I tried the eyeshadows on my eyes that I have this big changed of thoughts towards the Wonder Fun Park Color Eyes. I used an eyeshadow brush to apply the eyeshadow on my eyes and the colors shown up as fairly pigmented, the texture blends evenly and smoothly. I love that I can create a wearable gorgeous look with this palette.

Lipstick Queen Frog Prince Lipstick ♡ Review + Swatches

Lipstick Queen Frog Prince Lipstick

"Sometimes you have to kiss a few frogs before you find your prince!"
- Poppy King, Lipstick Queen Founder

I had a great time with Lipstick Queen Frog Prince while travelling in Europe last year, I took it with me every where and I wore it almost ever day, we had developed this close-knit relationship that no other color changing lipsticks can take over, for now.

Lipstick Queen Frog Prince Lipstick

Lipstick Queen Frog Prince is a green lipstick that transforms lips into a pretty rosebud pink, not every pair of lips will get the same outcome as the color can vary from pomegranate to a rosy shade depending on your skin's unique pH.

Frog Prince has a thin consistency and a glossy, wet formula that feels moisturizing during wear. It has a sheer pigmentation that lightly tints the lips, the color is buildable with a couple of swipes, but it will not turn into a full opaque coverage.

I find that the color reacts differently on me depending on the weather and humidity and the color can also change from a lighter shade into a darker shade throughout the day. The lipstick feels more like a lip balm and the longest it worn on me was four hours.

Overall, I love the cool concept of a green lipstick turning into a rosy pink shade, it reminds me of those mood rings and necklaces that I used to love as a kid.

I admit that I wasn't a fan of Lipstick Queen Frog Prince when I first tried it. While I love the slightly rubberized pink packaging and the cute frog printed on the outer box, I was disappointed that the color looked so sheer on me and it didn't look as good as I saw on majority of people on the internet.

What I didn't realized is that the longer I wear the lipstick, the darker the color turns into. It was not until I wore it to work and got complimented by my clients that I checked in the mirror to see this gorgeous medium rosy pink shade on my lips and that three hours after my first application.

Also I find that when testing the color on the back on my hands or doing arm swatches for the blog, Frog Prince only shown up as a smokey green color and it doesn't turn into a pink shade like it does on the lips.

Eternal Love 《三生三世十里桃花》Inspired Makeup Look ♡

The latest Chinese drama that I am obsessing over is called Eternal Love 《三生三世十里桃花》, also known as Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. It is a 2017 Chinese fantasy TV series starring my favourite actress Yang Mi and the storyline is complicated.

Although I don't fully understand the storyline yet, I have been loving the makeup and the costume from the drama and it lead me to recreate a look from one of its' main characters, Li Jing.

In the drama, Li Jing was the Ghost Tribe's second prince who eventually becomes the Ghost Lord, he is pretty much this bad guy with the sexy look.

When it comes to recreating makeup looks from Chinese dramas, I always prefer the bad guys even though I find it hard to act angry in photos, but I like the bad guys look more because Chinese dramas likes to exaggerate their makeup, especially the eye looks.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette is one of the best palettes that I own, and in this inspired makeup look I firstly blend the shade White Chocolate (second, top left) from lash line to brow bone, then I used the shade Triple Fudge (top right) to create the wing and Semi-Sweet (middle row, third from left) to blend on the lid. I then slightly pat the shades Glided Ganache (top left) and Black Forest Truffle (fourth from left, top row) on the lid to create that extra shimmer look. Last step I blend the shade Marzipan (second, middle left) onto the crease to make the wings less harsh and I also added a little to my inner corner.

I love this palette and I find that the colours are easy to create various look from natural to dramatic. The only annoying thing I will mention about this palette is that it doesn't have the eyeshadow names printed on the palette, but that is because I bought this during their first launch. I think people may have complaint about this and since then Too Faced has added the names on the palette just like their other palettes.

Eternal Love 《三生三世十里桃花》Inspired Makeup Look

Etude House Beauty Shot Face Blur is my all-time favourite primer! I love that it instantly brightens up my face upon application, it hides pores, covers imperfection and it worn well with foundation as well as wearing on its own.

It is currently summer in New Zealand, the weather is unstable, it could be hot and cold, rain and sun all in one day. Sometimes we do get the blue sky and full sunny days too and in those days it's usually very humid and I could see my makeup melting off during the day. I do have foundations that are very long-wearing, but nowadays I choose to wear no foundations at all, only the Etude House Face Blur and other products like highlighter, blush and bronzer. I love that this primer made my skin looks and feel soft, it controls facial oil and it wears well for oily skin.

MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation is a product that I have recently purchase and I am currently testing. So far I like that it is medium coverage and it covers uneven skin tones as well as smooth my skin. The only problem I have with this foundation is I find that it melts off my face within a couple hours of wear and I am not sure if it's not suitable for oily skin or because the weather is too hot and humid. I would have to try this in the winter to voice my opinion.

Eternal Love 《三生三世十里桃花》Inspired Makeup Look

Benefit Stay Don't Stray Eyeshadow Primer is a pretty awesome product for those with an oily eyelid, I like that it makes my eyeshadow stay put throughout the day without creasing or transferring. The one that I have is a sample that I got years ago and as you may know, I don't wear eye makeup too often, but if I do, this is a must in my eye makeup routine.

Innisfree Auto Eyebrow Pencil is one of those with a slanted auto pencil on one end and a spoolie on another. I find that the slanted pencil is easy and time efficient to draw my brows every morning, but I dislike that the pencil breaks easily in the tube.

MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Brow Set is not the best brow gel I have tried, but it is also not bad either. I like that the brow gel sets my brows in place throughout the day even if I sweat or if I walked in the rain, but I dislike that the product takes a while to fully set and sometimes my hair gets in the way and it smudges everywhere on my face.

YSL Touche Eclat Highlighter is one of my most re-purchased makeup products, I have raved about it many times on my blog and I love that it covers dark spots, hides under eye circle and instantly brightens up my complexion.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara is probably the only mascara (apart from Maybelline) that actually wears well with my short and stubby Asian lashes. I like that it holds my curls and it doesn't irritate my eyes during wear, but I dislike that it smudges badly during the day.

MAC Look In A Box ♡ Natural Flare Collection: Coppertone, Hug Me, Spice, All That Glitter & Raw Cocoa + Swatches

MAC Look In A Box Natural Flare Collection
MAC Look In A Box Natural Flare Collection

I am a huge fan of the MAC Look In A Box sets because they are a good way to try new products without spending a fortune. MAC Cosmetics has released six new Look In A Box face kits towards the end of 2016 and each kits includes seven permanent full-sized / deluxe travel-sized products that can be bought individually.

MAC Look In A Box Natural Flare Collection

My latest purchase from MAC is the Look In A Box set in the Natural Flare Collection. It is described as a neutral-tone kit that features two eyeshadows in All That Glitters and Row Cocoa, a blush in Coppertone, a lipstick in Hug Me, a lipglass in Spice, a liner in Graphblack and a travel-sized blush brush. The set retails for USD $56.50 with a value of up to USD $140.00.

The reason that I only bought the MAC Look In A Box Natural Flare Collection because it is the only one out of the six face kits that includes the products or shades that I haven't tried before and I was very excited about the set because I have wanted to try the All That Glitters eyeshadow and the Hug Me lipstick for a long long time.

MAC Look In A Box Natural Flare Collection

MAC COPPERTONE BLUSH

MAC Powder Blush in the shade Coppertone is described as a Peach Brown in a Matte finish, it is retailed for USD $23.00 if purchased on its' own. Coppertone is not a blush colour that I would normally go for because looking in the pan, the colour looks almost like a warm toned orangey bronzer colour, but I was surprised to see that when swatched on skin, the colour looks like an unexpected gorgeous peach. Coppertone is a Matte finish with a smooth texture, it has a sheer pigmentation that is buildable, it is blendable and it applies evenly on the cheeks.

MAC ALL THAT GLITTERS EYESHADOW

MAC Eye Shadow in the shade All That Glitters is described as a beige with gold pearl in a Veluxe Pearl finish, it is retailed for USD $16.00 when buying individually. I have always seen people raving about All That Glitters and this eyeshadow colour has been on my wish list for a very long time, so it's very exciting that I finally get to try this eyeshadow. All That Glitters is truly as good as what everyone says, I love the light champagne shade with that frosty effect and I like that it has a great pigmentation with a soft and smooth texture that glides on the eyelids evenly.

MAC RAW COCOA EYESHADOW

MAC Raw Cocoa Eye Shadow must be exclusive to the Natural Flare face kit because I cannot find it on the MAC website. Raw Cocoa is a light brown with loads shimmer and I am a little disappointed with this one because the colour applies very patchy and uneven.

MAC HUG ME LIPSTICK

MAC Lipstick in the shade Hug Me is described as a Flesh Pink in a Lustre finish and it retails for USD $17.00 when buying individually. Hug Me is another MAC product that has been sitting in my wish list for a long time, I love that it has a semi-sheer pigmentation that gives a glossy look, the colour is buildable with a couple of swipes and I love that it has a smooth texture that glides on the evenly, the lipstick is moisturizing during wear and it doesn't emphasise dry patches nor lip lines.

MAC Look In A Box Natural Flare Collection

MAC SPICE LIPGLASS

MAC Spice Lipglass is described as a Midtone Neutral Nude and it retails for USD $16.00 if purchased individually. Spice is a nude brown shade, it has a full opaque coverage that applies evenly on the lips without emphasising the lip lines. Spice has a sweet vanilla scent, just like any other MAC Lipglass and it worn well for three hours on me.

MAC 116SE BLUSH BRUSH

MAC 116SE Blush Brush is described as a perfect makeup tool for shading and highlighting the cheeks, the normal 116 blush brush retails for USD $35.00 and the one included in the set is a travel-sized / special edition and I assume that you cannot buy this one on its' own. I am not too familiar with MAC brushes because I always think that they are too expensive, but I have tried those special Limited Edition ones and I thought that the quality was terrible. I haven't tried the 116SE yet so I cannot comment on this one, but reviewing my previous experience with MAC travel-sized brushes, I didn't like that the bristles fall-outs a lot during each wash.

Lastly, there is a MAC Technakohl Liner in Graphblack included in the Natural Flare face kit, but I cannot find it anywhere and I thought I must have lost it while I was taking photos for this post.

Anyway, MAC Technakohl Liner retails for USD $17.00 and Graphblack is described as a rich graphic black. I own a couple of Graphblack in the past as it is a popular eyeliner shade that MAC likes to add into special kits, I find that they are hard to draw a wing liner, but they are easily applied when drawing a simple liner. MAC Technakohl Liner has a smooth texture and a good pigmentation, they are not water-proof or sweat-proof etc, but I find that they are quite long-wearing.
