Etude House haul
I have recently placed an order from Etude House's online store, after hearing so many amazing feedback, I thought I should experience it myself to see what all the raves is about; also an excuse for me to shop more heheh. My experience with Etude House was great, prices are a bit more expensive than buying from eBay; but their customer service is pretty good and shipping time didn't take too long. I will talk about all that at the end of showing you my haul.
Etude House My Beauty Tool Makeup Brushes
From left to right:
♥ ETUDE HOUSE My Beauty Tool Brush My 140 Powder is described as an uniquely shaped powder brush that applies powders and mineral foundation evenly and smoothly. I have been using this as a blush brush and I love that it picks up just the right amount of products when I try to achieve that natural flush look.
♥ ETUDE HOUSE My Beauty Tool Brush 351 Eyebrow Brush is used to precisely fill in and help shape eyebrows.
♥ ETUDE HOUSE My Beauty Tool Brush Eyebrow Screw is used for shape eyebrows with precision, it is also to remove excess powder from eyebrows.
♥ ETUDE HOUSE My Beauty Tool Brush 160 Duo Fiber is suggested to use as a highlighter brush or a brush that is able to remove excess powders on your face. I use this as a bronzer brush, to lightly bronze my cheekbones; and I love that the soft bristle allows me to blend easily to get that natural bronzy look on my face.
♥ ETUDE HOUSE My Beauty Tool Brush 130 Contour is described as a contour brush that will make a seamlessly sculpted, slimming appearance for your face. I originally purchased this and planned to use it as a concealer brush for under my eyes.
♥ ETUDE HOUSE My Beauty Tool Brush 210 Lip helps to apply lipstick or lip gloss evenly to the lips.
♥ ETUDE HOUSE My Beauty Tool Brush 121 Skin claims to help smooth liquid foundation over the skin for a flawless finish. I have used this to apply liquid foundation to my face, and I am absolutely in love with the results! I have always used a flat top synthetic face brush to apply my foundation to get that flawless look, and when I tried the 121 Skin Brush today; I was seriously blown away by its amazing result!!! So smooth, and so flawless ~
Etude House Secret Beam Highlighter - Gold & Beige
♥ ETUDE HOUSE Secret Beam Highlighter // Gold & Beige is a six colored all-over baked shimmer powder, it claims to instantly enhances the complexion with a soft and youthful luminosity.
There are two colors available from this range, and since I own too many of those pearly white highlighters, I decided to go for something different and more goldenly. I haven't worn this highlighter in a makeup look yet, but I did swatch them to see the color, and I am very impressed with the pigmentation. Is it very pigmented without looking like a glitter / shimmer ball.
Etude House Play 101 Pencil
I have been seeing these in-stores at Vanessa Mid-City (a Korean cosmetics store in Auckland) and every time I go into the store, I have been so tempted to get my hands on all the colors, but of course I walked away with nothing in my hands (haha), because they cost around NZD $12 per pencil, it is not expensive when you think of all the areas on the face you can use with one pencil, but it is oh-so-damn-expensive when comparing the prices to Etude House!
Etude House Play 101 Pencil
All ten Etude House Play 101 Pencils I have purchased are in the pinks, purples and reds; these are colors that are suitable for the lips, as you can see, I have been quite obsessed with lip liners lately.
Below list is not in order:
♥ ETUDE HOUSE Play 101 Pencil // PLAY #16 (Creamy) #16 is a creamy finish, the color reminds me of Too Faced Melted Peony; this shade is suggested to use as: lip color, blusher and eyeshadow.
♥ ETUDE HOUSE Play 101 Pencil // PLAY #17 (Creamy) #17 is a creamy finish, this is a hot pink color; my purpose of choosing this shade is to wear this with MAC Candy Yum Yum lipstick, both color looks quite similar. This shade is suggested to use as: lip color, blusher and eyeshadow.
♥ ETUDE HOUSE Play 101 Pencil // PLAY #18 (Matte) #18 is a matte finish, it is a pretty lavender color; this shade is suggested to use as: lip color, blusher and eyeshadow.
♥ ETUDE HOUSE Play 101 Pencil // PLAY #19 (Creamy) #19 is a creamy finish, this color reminds me of MAC Heroine Lipstick and it is what I have planned to wear with when I chose this color. This shade is suggested to use as: lip color, blusher and eyeshadow.
♥ ETUDE HOUSE Play 101 Pencil // PLAY #20 (Creamy) #20 is a creamy finish, the color is a brighter version of MAC Viva Glam Nicki; this shade is suggested to use as: lip color, blusher and eyeshadow.
♥ ETUDE HOUSE Play 101 Pencil // PLAY #21 (Glossy) #21 is a glossy finish, it is a rosy red, I thought this would wear well with MAC Mangrove Lipstick from the MAC Proenza Schouler collection. This shade is suggested to use as: lip color, blusher and eyeshadow.
♥ ETUDE HOUSE Play 101 Pencil // PLAY #22 (Glossy) #22 is a glossy finish, it is a brownish plum color that would make a good combination with MAC Sin Lipstick. This shade is suggested to use as: lip color, blusher and eyeshadow.
♥ ETUDE HOUSE Play 101 Pencil // PLAY #23 (Glossy) #23 is a glossy finish, it is a dark plum with a pink tone; this shade is suggested to use as: lip color, blusher and eyeshadow.
♥ ETUDE HOUSE Play 101 Pencil // PLAY #24 (Creamy) #24 is a creamy finish, this color reminds me of the whole MAC Whirl / Kylie Jenner look; this shade is suggested to use as: lip color, blusher and eyeshadow.
♥ ETUDE HOUSE Play 101 Pencil // PLAY #26 (Glitter) #26 is a glitter finish, the color reminds me of a lighter version of Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in shade Adora; this shade is suggested to use as: eyeliner and eyeshadow.
Each of these Play 101 Pencil glides on the lips smoothly, the colors are all very pigmented. The only negative thing I would say is they break very easily, just like any other auto-twisted pencils, they snap as you apply and it is just frustrating!
Etude House Color In Liquid Lips - PK001
Every other companies is coming out with new liquid lipsticks every week, and I think what makes this one different is that these Color In Liquid Lipsticks does not dry matte, instead, it offers a vivid, glossy look.
There are twenty shades available from this range.
Etude House Woo~ Baby Lip Plumper - #1 Sheer Volume
This product has a silicone tip for easy and smooth application, when wearing this, all it goes through my mind is mixing cooking oil with toothpaste (lol), it tingles my lips a bit, but I didn't see too much of the plumping effect; it does moisture my lips during wear and it wears off after three hours.
Woo~ Baby Lip Plumper is available in two shades, a clear one and a baby pink; pretty sure I have seen a hot pink shade and a bright red from this range before. I chose the clear one as I just want something simple that I could wear on top of lip liners or lip balms.
Etude House Beauty Shot Face Blur
I already have a full draw of brand new un-opened primers that I need to try out, so I really don't need another primer or makeup base; but I purchased this all because Etude House was running a promotion, where you purchase a Beauty Shot Face Blur, you get a pack of BB cream deluxe samples for free.
Since this was my first order, I didn't know the rules etc... I end up didn't getting my freebies >.< I emailed Etude House and they were quick to reply and explain why it wasn't included in my order. (I will explain that at the end along with my online store review). Happy with their customer service, but still very disappointed and I feel like this Face Blur is such a waste hahah.
Etude House Puff & Brush Cleaning Mist
I absolutely adore this, it is so convenience, easy to use; don't have to spend hours in the bathroom trying to get the nasty foundation out of one brush. The left over dirt in the makeup brush dissolve pretty quickly and removes easily with a few swipes on a clean cotton pad. The result is pretty amazing.
♥ ETUDE HOUSE Collagen Eye Patch (NO PICTURES, I used them all before I had a chance to show them off heheh). This is described as a hydrating and intensifying elasticity eye sheet that brightens and care for darkened eyes.
I love love LOVE the Etude House Collagen Eye Patches! It feels very cooling when I place it under my eyes, it feels very comfortable and after using it a few times; I do see a difference of before use and after use. I no longer have dark under eye circles for the lack of sleeps and when applying concealers under my eyes, it doesn't crease anymore, it applies smoothly and blends well.
♥ Etude House Online Store Review ♥
♥ PACKAGING: I am so impressed with the way Etude House package their parcels, I wish I have a picture you show you all! Everything comes wrapped in layers and layers of bubble wraps, nothing came broken; all the products were packed in a big box with Etude House printed all over, it's pretty professional.
♥ SHIPPING PRICE: Etude House often offers free shipping if spend over a specific amount, on days that there is no free shipping promotion going on, I heard their shipping prices is pretty expensive as they go by weigh and size. When I did my order, there were a "free shipping if spend over $50" event, and since I have spend nearly $150; I got free shipping!
♥ SHIPPING TIME: My Etude House order was sent and picked up for delivery on February 6th and it arrived to me on February 16th; altogether it took 10 days. The parcel was signature required and they delivered to a private bag address with no problems at all.
♥ EVENTS: Etude House runs different events every week, sometimes they offers free standard shipping if spend over $50, sometimes they offer freebies if purchase a certain item and sometimes they offer discounts on some of their products.
When I did my order there were two events going on, one was if purchase one Color In Liquid Lips, you get one Cherry Lip Gel Patch free and another event was, if purchase one Beauty Shot Face Blur, you get one pack of Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Trial Kit free. I was very looking forward to trying out the BB cream kit...
When I opened my parcel to see no freebies, I was pretty upset! Because I bought the Beauty Shot Face Blur just to get the freebies. =.= My first thought was: "maybe they have run out of freebies", I emailed them anyway, and their customer services were quick to respond. I was told that I have to manually add the freebies to my cart... WHAT?! Not trying to be a B, it's just freebies! But this explanation is ridiculous! What is the point of offering freebies if they don't automatically update in your shopping cart?! Plus, I wasn't told that I need to add it in my cart when I check out... LOL chill kay, chill ~
♥ PRICING: Etude House's pricing is quite similar to other Korean online beauty stores such as: BeautyNetKorea and RoseRoseShop; but when comparing to walk-in stores in Auckland, such as: Vanessa Mid-City and Rona Makeup, Etude House is far more affordable.
For examples:
Color In Liquid Lips: Etude House USD $9.50 / BeautyNetKorea USD $9.27
Beauty Shot Face Blur: Etude House USD $15.00 / BeautyNetKorea USD $15.03
Collagen Eye Patch: Etude House USD $1.00 / RoseRoseShop USD $0.77
Play 101 Pencils:
Etude House USD $6.00 / RoseRoseShop USD $4.62 / Vanessa Mid-City NZD $12.00
♥ OVERALL STORE RATING:
Apart being not impressed with the events freebies thing, I think Etude House is overall a very convenient online store to shop from. Their pricing are very affordable compare to New Zealand prices and since this is Etude House's own brand, you can be the first to try out their new products. I was very impressed by their customer service, they replied my email almost instantly and they explained my problems thoroughly; very helpful service.

Ohhh! I'm so excited for you and this haul makes me happy hahahah The Play 101 Pencils are one of my favorite makeup items and I really want to just buy all of them.
ReplyDeleteHaha, yes. I think it's really dumb how you have to add the freebies in order to get them. I really want to make a purchase but I want free shipping! I really don't like paying for shipping. Haha. Just gonna wait until they have a free shipping promo again.

wow that's a lot of great things! I really wanna try the brushes and the face blur!
ReplyDeleteAh~ cute! I have a few of these items (love the Whoo~ baby limp plumper, one of my favs!) I'm super curious about the toothbrush-esque face brush you love so much. Reminds me of the Mac ones (which, from what i've heard, the face brush is the only one that is actually nice).
ReplyDeleteI have one of the play pencils and I almost died from the pigmentation and creamy-ness. You have so many of them now, totes jealous! haha
Thanks for the review. ^^
I love Etude House! Such a beautiful blog btw <3 What camera do you use?

Oh wow Kay! You did a GIANT haul! I've been seeing so many awesome reviews and looks using those Play pencils and I'd LOVE to own a hot pink fuchsia one, teal blue and one of the super shimmery bronzy shades for eyeshadow/eyeliner! That lip gloss too has been quite well reviewed to be an easy to wear glossy lip color, I didn't realize there were so many colors in the range! Sorry to hear you didn't get your samples but I do hope that primer works decently! Awesome haul girl, I'm living vicariously through you! ^^
ReplyDeleteThe things look great! :) I'm curious about the highlighter! I'm looking forward to your upcoming reviews c:

Awesome and super cute haul!♥ I really liked your post, you have great pictures and have explained everything very well. Thanks for putting so much effort! It's a shame you have not received your free samples, but I'm glad that overall you had a good shopping experience.
