Le Metier de Beaute Sheer Brilliance Lipgloss ♥ Summerland // Review + Swatches

Le Metier de Beaute Sheer Brilliance Lipgloss - Summerland

During this past summer, I have been absolutely loving the Le Metier de Beaute Sheer Brilliance Lipgloss in Summerland; I especially love it on those no-makeup days, when I just feel like adding a bit of moisture and sparkles to my lips.

Le Metier de Beaute Sheer Brilliance Lipgloss is described as buildable semi-transparent tint that offers to bring out the beauty of your natural lip color. This product features a light-weight and hydrating formula that can be worn alone for a sheer, brilliant shine with a hint of color; or it can be worn over your favourite lipsticks. LMdB claims this lip gloss will not leave your lips dehydrated, instead it will leaves them feeling and looking beautiful, radiant and healthy.

imagePACKAGING:
Le Metier de Beaute Sheer Brilliance Lipgloss comes packaged in a standard lipgloss tube with a transparent body, the packaging looks simple, it doesn't look cheap, nor is it expensive looking and it comes with a doe-foot applicator.

The cardboard box packaging is even more simple! Just like any other LMdB products, it comes with a black cardboard box with Le Metier de Beaute printed all in capital letter in the center.

Normally I like beauty products that comes with a super cute packaging, and I often avoid things that are very, very simple; but I do have a different expectation for a high-end product, I like them to look simple and classy, and that totally describes LMdB, minus the material used.

imageSUMMERLAND:
The promotional pictures on Beauty Bay and the actual lipgloss color is totally different, on Beauty Bay Le Metier de Beaute Sheer Brilliance Lipgloss Summerland is shown as a dark bronze brown and in real life looking from the tube it looks like a medium bronze that is pack with a tube of sparkles; and when worn the lips it shows up as a sheer, subtle shimmery light bronzey shade with a hint of pink.

A bit complicated isn't it?!

imageAPPLICATION:
The texture of the Sheer Brilliance Lipgloss is not sticky like traditional lipglosses, it is very light-weight and it glides on smoothly, feels almost like applying oil on my lips without too much slippery-ness, it also applies evenly with two coats and it doesn't leaves streaky bits here or there.

imageLONGEVITY:
I am totally impressed with how well the Sheer Brilliance Lipgloss worn on me, I didn't expect it to last very long, even though it is a high-end brand and the quality should fit in with the price tag; but because it is a lipgloss, and lipglosses don't generally last that long, I didn't expect anything when I bought this!

The glossiness and the subtle shimmer of LMdB Summerland wore well for approximately three hours then it slowly fades and disappear, at the same time the bronzi-ness stay still, the color doesn't fade and it wore for another two or three hours until it is fully gone.

imageLMDB CLAIMS:
Ultra light-weight and hydrating formula - very true! Le Metier de Beaute Sheer Brilliance Lipgloss feels very light-weight during wear and application feels airy ~ It feels hydrating and it does not dry out my lips even on days I have forgotten to exfoliate, apply lip balms and care for my dry lips before hand.

Leaves lips looking and feeling beautiful, radiant and healthy - also true! This lipgloss gives me a healthy plumped lips look without being too over the top, and I love that!

Wear alone for sheer, brilliant shine with a hint of color - I often wear Summerland on its own and it has a beautiful sheer, bronzey color with subtle shimmer.

Buildable semi-transparent tint - true! The LMdB Sheer Brilliance Lipgloss is buildable and it is semi-transparent with the first coat, I like to wear mine with at least two coats. My favourite thing about this buildable semi-transparent tint is that even though I have worn a couple of layers of gloss to build up the color, the bronzey shade doesn't go over the top and turn into a deep bronze or something, instead the color stays light bronzey and the more products you add, the more shimmers you pack on.

Responds to the natural lip color - not sure?! I do have quite a pigmented lips and I am not sure if this lipgloss does enhance my natural lip color, really couldn't see a difference as wearing any other lipglosses.

imageOVERALL RATING: imageimageimageimage

Le Metier de Beaute Sheer Brilliance Lipgloss is available to purchase at Beauty Bay (AUD $45.80), they offer free shipping if purchase over AUD $20; I did have a few not-so-happy experiences with Beauty Bay in the past where my items either arrive broken or faulty, but they did do their best to fix my problems; so now I do recommend them to you beauties, because they have quite a good customer service!

Le Metier de Beaute Color Core Moisture Stain Lipstick ♥ Marrakech Review + Swatches

Le Metier de Beaute
I have never mentioned Le Metier de Beaute on my blog before, although it is not a new makeup brand on the market, it is fairly new to me. I have came across a lot of new-to-me brands last year and I am just slowly trying out these products and reviewing them.

Today I am reviewing the Le Metier de Beaute Color Core Moisture Stain Lipstick in Marrakech. This brand is not available in New Zealand, so I purchased this lipstick along with a few other Le Metier de Beaute products from BeautyBay.

Le Metier de Beaute Lipstick

Le Metier de Beaute Color Core Lipstick comes packaged in a thin, round tube; the material of its outside packaging feels like 'car tyres' types of material, black, rubber-ish. The packaging is simple and it match up to its luxuries makeup standard; not too much graphic, nor too girly, it is suitable for all age groups.

Le Metier de Beaute Color Core Moisture Stain Lipstick - Marrakech

Le Metier de Beaute Color Core Moisture Stain Lipstick is described as a long-wearing, hydrating lipstick that will delivery a rich and full coverage color. The Color Core range claims its shea butter moistures and heals dryness, while jojoba protects against lip wrinkles, it will not feather nor bleed during wear and it provides a velvety finish.

There are twenty-something shades available in the Color Core Moisture Stain range and each lipstick is named after a well-known vacation spot around the world. I purchased this lipstick while it was on sale, so there weren't a lot of color choices to choose from. I did end up picking the shade Marrakech, it's a beautiful pinky orangey color with a frost finish.

** arghh ** I didn't know Marrakech is a frost finish when I bought the lipstick, but in this case it's not too bad. The color is so summery and pretty and comfortable to wear, it's alright even if it's a frost.

One of my favourite things about this lipstick is the formula, it isn't as moisturizing as Le Metier de Beaute had claimed, but its texture is soft and velvety. Marrakech being a frost finish, I had expected it to worn off within a short time frame and I had imagined it would be hard to apply and get the color to show without layering it a million times. I was wrong.

Le Metier de Beaute Marrakech Lipstick is very long-wearing, for a frost finish; it worn well on me for approximately four hours even on days I go hiking, I sweat a lot, I drank a lot of water, I touch my lips quite often and it still stays on!

Marrakech is moisturizing, but it's not too-moisturizing like a creamy feel. Every time I wear this lipstick, not only do I adore the subtle shimmery summer color, I also love how comfortable it is; I love that it doesn't dry out my already-dried-lips nor does it crack and flake.

I am looking forward to trying out more shades from the Color Core Moisture Stain Lipstick range, I especially want to try the creamy matte fomula they have, I much prefer matte over frost finish.

Le Metier de Beaute Color Core Moisture Stain Lipstick is available to purchase at beautybay.com (AUD $42.80), they currently only have two darker shades available, not sure if they will re-stock Marrakech. This range is also available on net-a-porter (USD $42.07), I haven't done a beauty order through net-a-porter before so I am unsure how the whole shipping process works, I assume those who lives outside of US would have to use a mail forwarding service as they probably don't ship beauty items oversea.

Best Of 2014 ♡ EYE SHADOWS

Some of these eye shadows mentioned in this post I have only purchased them recently, and I feel that they deserve a mention in my Best of 2014 series because their qualities are amazing! I don't wear eye shadows on a daily basis and/or weekly basis, it's only when I decided to practice my makeup skill or when I create MOTD for Instagram and other social medias, these are probably the only time I take out my eye shadows palettes for a show-off.

Below are a few products that I have been loving and they definitely deserves a shout-out. Even thou I don't wear eye shadows that often, I do own quite a few individual eye shadows and eye shadows palettes including NARS and the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette (just got that recently). It wasn't hard to choose my eye shadows favourites in a situation where I can choose more than one, but I think it would be so difficult if I had to choose just one!

Anyway, curious to know which eye shadow palettes and/or individuals I have been loving this year?...

imageURBAN DECAY NAKED3 PALETTE
Limit and Nooner are the only shades I use from this palette, not that the other shades aren't good, cause they are! The whole palette is beautiful inside out and the pigmentation and the quality is amazing!

I have previously tried the Urban Decay Naked Palette and I didn't enjoy it as much as everyone else did, and when Urban Decay announced the release of the Naked3 palette, I was super excited! This palette comes with a range of colors from shimmery pinky shades to deep dark black with red micro-glitter. The texture of the eye shadows are soft and velvety, they blend easy and nicely; and the staying power amazeball!

The only negative thing I have to say about this palette is the packaging, I love the rose-gold color and the wavy texture, but the case is not sturdy enough. When I first received this palette, one of the eye shadow pan has already fell out, so if you aren't careful enough and you drop the palette, the eye shadow pans would easily come off, you'd be lucky if the eye shadows don't shatter all over.

imageSMASHBOX FULL EXPOSURE TRAVEL PALETTE
I've only had this palette for two months and each time I use this palette, it just left me with a great impression! This is my first time trying out a Smashbox product and I love that their product quality is amazing! The eye shadows are very pigmented, even the four shimmery ones; the texture is velvety which makes application easy! Each eye shadow applies smoothly without being powdery.

As much as I adore these eye shadows, I am not a fan of the packaging! I get that it's a travel size, so it's suppose to be as thin and small as possible; but the palette falls apart when I accidentally dropped it, I wasn't expecting that cause I dropped it on the carpet! The case is very VERY thin, small and handy, it's as big as my palm and it just feels very cheap.

imageMAC HER COCOA EYESHADOW QUAD
This is a Limited Edition eye shadow quad from the RiRi Hearts MAC collection, I have been wanting to write a full review on this, but every single time better things has came up so till now I still haven't done any reviews or first impression on this eye shadow quad.

I chose this as one of my 2014 favourites because it's one of those products that I could go months without using it, then one day I decided to create a look with this eye shadow quad and I just fell in love all over again! The eye shadows doesn't have individual names, but the quad itself is called "Her Cocoa". These four eye shadows comes in different finish, each texture feels different and overall they are all great qualities!

My favourite shade from this palette is definitely "Her Cocoa #1", it is described as a "bright bronzed gold with a Lustre finish".

imageLE METIER DE BEAUTE TRUE COLOR EYE SHADOW - PEACHY KEEN
Le Metier de Beaute 'True Color' Eye Shadow is described as a "weightless, true-to-color pigmented eye shadow that is adjustable in coverage and transparency". There are 31 shades available from the LMDB True Color Eye Shadow line with different formulas ranging from matte, satin and shimmers.

People always says first impression is important and it is VERY important! I came across some little problems when I did my first Le Metier De Beaute order through BeautyBay and it wasn't even LMDB's fault, but the company did all they could to turn a customer's frown upside down and that is very impressive. Not that I am a difficult person to sort out! Haha!

LMDB's customer service is top notch, so are their products! Totally good quality highly pigmented eye shadows! I have the shade Peachy Keen, it is described as a pale peach with a matte finish. I use Peachy Keen as an eye shadow base, the texture is creamy and soft, it's matte but it's not chalky.

So... Tell me, what eye shadow palettes have you been loving this year?
