Tony Moly Egg Pore Silky Smooth Balm ★ Review + Before & After Result

Tony Moly Egg Pore Silky Smooth Balm

I was thrilled to receive one of the Tony Moly Egg Pore products in the Memebox x Tony Moly box back in May this year, this is one of those products that I have been wanting for so long, but every time I decide to place an order, I always have second thoughts; >.< so I was really glad to be able to finally try out the egg pore silky smooth balm!

There are a total of three steps to complete in the Tony Moly Egg Pore series, each step is use with a different egg product; the three products includes:

► Blackhead Out Oil Gel
clear oil gel to softly cares blackhead
► Tightening Pack
wash off pack to tightens widened pores
► Silky Smooth Balm
pore cover balm to expresses smooth and soft skin

The one I am reviewing today is the Silky Smooth Balm, it is described as a magic balm to make skin smooth and bouncy like the surface of egg whites. Tony Moly claims this pore balm can cover loosed and widened pores, minor wrinkles, scars and other skin blemishes. It also claims to leave your face soft and oil-free and that makeup will last longer than usual.

Tony Moly Egg Pore Silky Smooth Balm comes housed in a golden egg shape container, there is a little crack design with shinny material on top of the egg. I heard it is designed like that because the top is removable, so when you have finished the pore balm, you can remove the shinny part and turn the egg into a flower pot.

Hmmm interesting right...?! To be honest, I would rather have them designed the container smaller with more products, instead of one big egg with a size of product that is not even half of the size of the egg. But then, if they have designed this into something else, I probably wouldn't even pay attention to it... After all this product caught my eyes all because of its super kawaii packaging!

The texture of the Tony Moly Egg Pore Silky Smooth Balm is in-between a silicone gel balm type and a hard balmy type, it feels quite soft and spongey. When I first opened this pore balm, it looks smooth like pretty white cloud, and after awhile the surface cracked and the whole thing just separate itself. The surface changes does not affect the application and texture, it still feels as silky, soft and moist.

The product looks white in the container, but once smooth it out on your skin, it turns into colorless.

Tony Moly Egg Pore Silky Smooth Balm's texture is very soft, so application is super easy and smooth. When first scoop out the product from the container, it does look crumply, but once smooth it out on the skin, it feels soft and smooth.

There is a supple scent of lemon once apply the silky smooth balm on the skin, the smell disappeared after a minute or so. It doesn't have that strong chemical lemon scent, it smells quite refreshing.

The result shown after applying the Tony Moly Egg Pore Silky Smooth Balm is pretty impressive, I don't see much of a difference when I apply the pore balm to other areas on my face, but it does shows a huge difference on my nose, my pores became less obvious and makeup goes on smoothly.

When I first tried out this product, I used to apply too much and it felt very greasy, makeup didn't last as long as Tony Moly claims and since I already have a combo / oily skin type, it felt like my makeup was melting off just two hours after I apply it. Then I started to apply just a thin layer of the product to my face, makeup did last a little longer before I had to blot and touch-up with powder, my face was less shinier and foundation applies smoothly, it didn't feel greasy or heavy while wearing a thin layer of the pore balm with foundation and any other product used on the day.

The silky smooth pore balm does not cover pores dramatically for me but it did cover well, below I have a picture of a before and after shot of my nose >.< WARNING: it looks totally ewwwy lol, it doesn't look as bad in person, my camera just made it look worst hahah.

OVERALL: even thou this silky smooth balm primer does not cover up pores dramatically for me, it still does a good job! I love the cute egg packaging and the freshly lemon scent is very nice, I am especially excited to turn the egg into a flower pot after I finish the primer heheh ~

I love that this product is very soft and smooth, it may looks crumbly when first scoop out the product, but it spreads easily onto the skin. I also enjoy wearing this on those no makeup days!

OVERALL RATING:

  1. Wow, your pores definitely look smaller in the after photo. I totally agree about the packaging! It's really cute but so big.

Thanks for the review. :) I never really thought pore shrinking products worked but this seems pretty effective.

  2. This definitely has a visible effect! I too agree, the size of the packaging is quite excessive! It would be better if it were smaller although it is super cute!
