MAC Viva Glam Rihanna 2 ♥ Lipstick & Lipglass Lip Swatches

As soon as I saw the MAC x Rihanna - Viva Glam Rihanna 2 promo pictures, a voice inside me told me I need to have that lipglass in my life! So when I did my MAC order, I also got the lipstick, hoping I would fall in love with it too. It's not that I wasn't a fan of the lipstick, I think the color is different, it's unique, I haven't seen anything like that before; but the downside is, I am not a fan of Frost finish anything, so I would try my best to stay away from Frost finish items, unless if it's a must-have product in my collection.

My first impression of the MAC Viva Glam Rihanna 2 set was... "It's frikin' gorgeous!". The packaging is beautiful, the lipstick comes housed in a velvety soft red bullet with Rihanna's signature printed on the glossy part (this part can be seen when remove the cap). The lipglass also comes packaged with a velvety red cap (where the doe-foot applicator is attached to) and just like any other MAC lipglass, it has a transparent tube that shows the actual color of the gloss. 

Now I won't pretend that I know all about the MAC Viva Glam program, cause I don't haha; but I am also not fully clueless haha ~ I have done some research and I know just a little about this program. MAC Viva Glam is a charity campaign which MAC collaborate with well-known celebrities and create a line of lipstick and lipglass, then they donate every cent of the purchase price of the campaign towards the MAC AIDS Fund, helping women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. I did my Viva Glam Rihanna 2 order via the MAC US site and I was sent an email thanking me for my support of the MAC AIDS Fund. Here's another reason to love MAC, not only do they create such amazing products, they also have great manners towards their customers. 

Anyway, enough about that; I have two amazeball lip swatches of the MAC Viva Glam Rihanna 2 Lipstick and Lipglass to show you today! These pictures came out better than expected. ^^ ~

MAC Viva Glam Rihanna 2 Lipstick (US $16.00) is described as a "warm mauvey silver frost", it's a mauvey dark brown with a too-much Frost finish. This lipstick looks gorgeous up close, like in my lip swatch pictures; but it looks so weird as a whole, if that make sense. Not sure if it's because I am not used to a dark brown shinny lipstick or it doesn't go well with my NC25 skin tone.

I have seen plenty of pictures and videos of dark skin girls wearing the Viva Glam Rihanna 2 Lipstick, and every single one of them looks like supermodels! The frost and the dark brown match each of their dark complexions and the lip color doesn't look alien like it does on me.

MAC Viva Glam Rihanna 2 Lipglass (US $15.00) is described as a "cool mauve with red frost", this is a grey-ish sheer gloss with la mixture of pink and silver sparkles. I have always been a fan of MAC lipglass, I love their sticky consistency and they wear so comfortable.

The Viva Glam Rihanna 2 Lipglass can be worn on its own, or over another lipstick. I have worn the lipglass over the Viva Glam Rihanna 2 lipstick in my above lip swatch and it is such a beautiful combination, no wonder they are made for each other. I love that it made my lips looks totally plump and the shimmer and sparkles also shows through well, instead of looking like they don't exist!

Both the MAC Viva Glam Rihanna 2 Lipstick and Lipglass are Limited Edition, I have just checked online and they are both sold out at the moment. MAC does restock some of their LE products and I am sure they will restock the Viva Glam Rihanna 2; but I can't guarantee it. Pretty sure the lipstick would still be available at your local MAC counter, as a majority of reviews I have came across, not many people were feeling it.

Overall, MAC Viva Glam Rihanna 2 Lipstick is beautiful inside out, I am still on the fence with the Frost finish; but I am learning to accept that it's not too bad. I wish the dark brown frosty shade would suit my complexion more, I think it is a better lipstick for those with a dark skin tone. The Viva Glam Rihanna 2 Lipglass is also super stunning, in my opinion it is ten times better than the lipstick, I love the combination when worn the lipglass over the lipstick and I adore it more when worn along.

If MAC does restock the Viva Glam Rihanna 2 set, I suggest trying out the lipglass if you haven't!
