Chi Chi Creamy Matte Liquid Lipsticks ♥ Crazy In Love & Drama Queen / Review + Swatches

"Creamy Matte Liquid Lipsticks", doesn't it sounds more like frenemies than friends?! In the back of my mind I think creamy and matte just don't get along when it comes to a liquid lipstick, you either be a creamy formula, or you dries to a fully matte finish.

Obviously nothing is impossible when it comes to Chi Chi Cosmetics, they have created a liquid lipstick that is both creamy and matte at the same time, this product is so popular that it is always sold out every time I dropped by Farmers.

I currently own two of the Chi Chi Creamy Matte Liquid Lipsticks in shades Crazy in Love and Drama Queen. I first talked about them in my Farmers Haul, where I have posted pictures of me wearing both shades and also a bit of first impression on both Chi Chi liquid lipsticks. Crazy in Love is my absolute favourite, I have been using it for months, and I think it is the right time for me to write an in-depth review on this product.

Chi Chi Creamy Matte Liquid Lipstick is described as a super long lasting lip product that wears without feathering or drying out lips. These liquid lipsticks has a creamy formula that dries to a matte finish, it contains high performing color pigments to ensure each color last all day long, it is easy to apply, soft, smooth and moisturizing,

Chi Chi Creamy Matte Liquid Lipstick is Made in Italy.

CRAZY IN LOVE is a dusty-mauvey pink.
DRAMA QUEEN is a purple-plum.

These Chi Chi Creamy Matte Liquid Lipsticks comes packaged in a plastic tube, similar to Lime Crime Velvetines, but it looks and feels a lot cheaper; if that make sense?! The packaging is very simple, there is pretty much no information printed on the packaging, except for the product name across the tube and the name of the liquid lipstick printed on a clear sticker on the bottom.

The material used and the overall packaging is very cheap, even so part of me likes the packaging anyway, I love the transparent body that allows me to see how much product is left, also the color you see from the tube is pretty accurate to the actual shade of the liquid lipstick.

Application of these Creamy Matte Liquid Lipstick is easily, just as Chi Chi claimed; the liquid lipstick comes with a slimmer and longer sponge tip, should I call this applicator 'a bigger doe-foot'?! Hahah I am not sure what this type of applicator is called, but they are really nice!

I love the pointy part of the applicator, it allows me to apply a precise lip line without having too much pressure that I may mess it up; for those of you who don't know, I have very shaky hands and it is always stressful for me to apply liquid texture lip products and get them into the perfect shape.

I love that the applicator allows me to apply a full opaque coverage with just one application, it applies even and smoothly and it never mess up.

Chi Chi Cosmetics claims these liquid lipsticks has a creamy formula that dries to a matte finish and let me be very honest with you, these does not dry matte at all, it doesn't matter how long you have wait for the liquid lipsticks to set, you could wait for hours and it still feels creamy and looks glossy.

I guess the creamy texture is what keeps the liquid lipstick very moisturizing during wear, usually liquid form of lip products gets very drying after they have set into a matte finish, but the Chi Chi Creamy Matte Liquid Lipstick stays hydrating during wear and it does not dry out my lips until the product wears off.

I adore fruity scents lip products, especially grape scents! and the Chi Chi Creamy Matte Liquid Lipsticks smells exactly like grapes, candy grapes! Arghh; why so perfect! Heheh, people who dislikes scented lip products may not like this, because the smell is quite strong, it only disappear after wearing it for awhile.

Both shades I own from the Creamy Matte Liquid Lipstick range is long lasting, but non of them are smudge-proof and obviously with its creamy texture, it is not kiss-proof! The product does transfer to food when I eat, and cups when I drink. I don't get annoyed because a lot of the lips products I have tried in the past does the same, and some are even worst.

Crazy in Love worn well for approximately five hours on me before it starts to disappear from from the center of my lips, it then fully disappeared and leave no stains after six hours.

Drama Queen is a much darker color compares to Crazy in Love, so it does leaves quite a heavy plum shade stain after the actual product wears off, it also worn much, much longer on me.

Overall, even though Chi Chi Cosmetics claims these will set into a matte finish and in reality it just stays creamy and glossy, I love that it is different to any other liquid lipsticks I have come across.

As we all know, liquid lipsticks had become such a popular form of lip products these days, and every other new liquid lipsticks different companies has created are either very drying or the texture does not live up to its pricing standard.

Chi Chi Creamy Matte Liquid Lipstick is very comfortable to wear, application always goes smoothly without messing up and smudging everywhere, absolutely love the fruity grape smell and the color is very opaque, applies with an even coverage.

Chi Chi Creamy Matte Liquid Lipsticks are available at Farmers (in-store only) in sixteen shades, colors ranging from the prettiest nude to the most glamorous red. They are NZD $22.99 each, kind of expensive in my opinion, but worth every penny.

  2. The "matte" part of the name seems so misleading after this review! Even so, the color and performance sounds like they're still good products. I really love that companies are bringing out more liquid lipsticks because they're easier to apply without the tugging some regular lipsticks have.

  5. I'm assuming this is an Australian brand, so we must not have it here in the States. But I do like creamy matte liquid lipsticks because application is just simple and they are so pigmented! :) glad to hear you enjoyed this product.

  8. OMG. FRUITY SCENTS! Moisturizing, not matte (although they're supposed to be)!!! I want one! I totally steer clear usually of lippies that are meant to dry down matte but this sounds like a good match for me! I love a good creamy lip formula that doesn't move and stays comfy! My parents were in australia the last two weeks but I didn't want to bother them with buying me any aussie cosmetics :p

    2. Thanks for offering! I would totally exploit that offer but I promised myself to really not buy lip products that I won't use often (lipstains especially)...I don't have many lippies to begin with but I rarely use them (even though I love a bold pink lip)
