Too Faced Le Grand Chateau Set ♡ Eyeshadow Swatches

Too Faced Le Grand Chateau Set

Super kawaii dollhouse packaging and amazing pigmentation, the Too Faced Le Grand Chateau is totally my cup of tea! I love everything from its packaging to its quality, it was love at first sight when I first saw the swatches of the palettes; and even though I don't wear eyeshadow that often, I thought it would be cute the keep the box as I love the whole dollhouse girly theme.

Today I am not giving an in-depth review of the Too Faced Le Grand Chateau set, nor will I be writing a review on the eyeshadows included in the set in the future. Reason is, because I still cannot get over the fear of using cosmetics that are Made in China, despite how beautiful these eyeshadows are and the quality is amazing, I just can't...

I love Too Faced and I love that majority of their products are Made in USA and Canada, but I do notice that a lot of their prettier products, for example, the Sweetheart Beads is Made in China. I just don't understand?!

Anyway, today I want to focus this post on the swatches of the individual palettes that came in the set. As Sephora described, this is a set with three eyeshadows, blush and bronzer palettes with a deluxe size mascara in a limited edition dollhouse packaging.

Too Faced Le Grand Chateau Set features an adorable dollhouse that opens to reveal three separate palettes with three different Paris theme. The roof of the chateau is removable and once all the products is removed from the set, there is a picture of a pretty pink girly chair with a shopping bag filled with makeup goodies next to it and a night sky with the Eiffel Tower shown through a drawing of a window.

The palettes included is gift-able individually. The individual palettes are made of sturdy cardboard, on the cover of each palette there is a textured ribbon printed on and on the back there is a to:_____ and from:_____ little label thing for the person gifting to fill in.

PARIS IN LOVE

AMOUR - pale pink and it has amazing pigmentation.

FLEUR - peachy pink with golden sheen that doesn't show up too well in photos but it's beautiful in person.

JE T'AIME -  rosy pink with a frosted sheen.

MOI - chocolate brown with shimmer, once applied on skin the shimmer looks like chunks of glitter and the pigmentation isn't as great as others.

CHERIE - medium grey and the texture is a little powdery.

TOUT SUITE - bronzey brown with shimmer and a good pigmentation.

JOLIE - orangey bronzer shade with sheer pigmentation.

PARIS AU NATURALE

Paris Au Naturale is my absolute favourite palette out of the three, every single shade is so high quality, so pigmented and the texture is so creamy. The colours are all suitable for daily wear, day or night, gawh ~ I become so speechless when it comes to this palette because it's just so beautiful!

POT DU CREME - light beige with 100% pigmentation, it is a matte finish, yet it applies very smoothly, not powdery at all and no fall-outs.

FIFI - medium brown.

LA FEMME - deep brown with a sheer colour pay-off.

BONJOUR - metallic, golden sheen.

MERCI - dark brown.

QUI - didn't think I was going to like this shade when looking at the palette, it is nothing special; but once swatched on skin, it's... o.m.g... it's so much pretty sparkles! it's a brownish black with gold sparkles.

MADEMOISELLE - coral pink blush with sheer colour pay-off.

PARIS AFTER DARK

One of my motives of buying the Le Grand Chateau set was falling absolutely in love with Tres Chic, it was love at first sight when I saw it on the internet, I fell in love with the colour in the pan.

LE MARAIS - white with pink sheen.

RENDEZVOUS - dusty mauve with a matte finish.

PROVENCE - medium purple with blue shimmer in the pan, when swatched on skin the shimmers are not visible.

PARFAIT - peachy pink with metallic sheen.

TRES CHIC - in the pan this shade looks sooooo beautiful, it looks black with million of violet sparkles; but once swatched on skin it's a disappointment. the sparkles doesn't show up on skin at all, instead it looks like plain ol' smokey black when swatched.

NOIR - just black in the pan and a sheer black when swatched on skin.

TRES FAB - cool toned pink, silky texture blush.

Unfortunately I always post review / swatches / first impressions one step too late, the Too Faced Le Grand Chateau set is all sold out online; but some of the other holiday sets are still available on Sephora and Too Faced.

I have no regret in buying the Le Grand Chateau set even though I knew from the moment that I received my package, that I would never ever use these eyeshadows on my eyes area or anywhere on my face. American dollars to us kiwis at the moment is very expensive, the set was USD $49.00 which calculate to NZD $73.00, it was crazy expensive, but the dollhouse chateau is worth every penny. I just love that it is so adorable and useful for other things such as storing other palettes to make space while still looking cute.

  3. Gorgeous! I just love how pretty everything looks and how people can give away the different palettes separately! It makes sense to me that they'd make different products in different countries as cost would typically be cheaper in Asia. Also the products made in north america may be assembled/made with ingredients/raw materials from china...etc so it's really hard to know where stuff is really from nowadays. I personally indulged in some lovely beauty bits this last month for myself and I can't wait to haul them!
