MAC x Giambattista Valli Lipsticks
MAC Cosmetics has collaborated with Italian fashion designer Giambattista Valli in 2015 and together they have created a line of lip products with colorful Limited Edition packaging that reflects the color of its corresponding lipsticks.
The collection was so popular that it sold out faster than expected. I managed to get four out of five lipsticks from the range and I could not be more happier then! My favourite thing about the MAC x Giambattista Valls Collection is, obviously the packaging!
MAC x Giambattista Valli Lipsticks
Firstly, an introduction to Giambattista Valli (don't feel bad if you don't know who he is, cause I didn't know either until I bought those lipsticks), he is an Italian fashion designer who is well known for his dramatic flora dresses. I had a look on Google and WOW, I love how girly but feminine his fashion collections looks on the runway.
Anyway, continue with the MAC x Giambattista Valli Collection, the range features five matte lipsticks and one potted clear lipgloss. Super glad that I was able to get my hands on four of the matte lipsticks that I had originally planned getting and they are:
MAC x Giambattista Valli Lipsticks - Eugenie
MAC x Giambattista Valli Lipsticks - Eugenie
MAC EUGENIE LIPSTICK, described as a "dark cherry with blue undertones with a matte finish", on my light to medium skin tone, it is shown as a vampy wine-ish purple shade that is totally fierce! Eugenie has a full opaque coverage that applies without dragging the lips, but it was drying during wear. The lipstick doesn't feathered and smeared when wearing without a lip liner and the dark shade allows the lipstick to wear for long hours before it fades into a berry stain.
MAC x Giambattista Valli Lipsticks - Charlotte
MAC x Giambattista Valli Lipsticks - Charlotte
MAC CHARLOTTE LIPSTICK, described as a "brightened, medium-dark red with cool undertones and a matte finish", it's a bright, pink-ish red on me and the consistency is smooth that also applies without any trouble. Usually I would skip any red lipsticks from a new launch because I feel like they all look pretty much the same, they are all either a deepen red with a cool undertone or an orange red with a warm undertone. I end up buying Charlotte because it looks different to all the other reds I have seen. It is red, with a bit of rosy shades, it is bright, but it is subtle and wearable, even for someone like me who isn't too much of a red lips wearer.
MAC x Giambattista Valli Lipsticks - Tats
MAC x Giambattista Valli Lipsticks - Tats
MAC TATS LIPSTICK, described as a "bright hot pink with a matte finish", reminds me of Lime Crime Pink Velvet. it is a brightened, medium pink and it has an opaque coverage that glides on effortlessly. Tats was long wearing and it wears comfortably without feathering or feels drying.
MAC x Giambattista Valli Lipsticks - Margherita
MAC x Giambattista Valli Lipsticks - Margherita
MAC MARGHERITA LIPSTICK, described as a “bright peachy yellow with a matte finish". Before trying out Margherita, I thought that it would be the most daily wearable shade from the MAC x Giambattista Valli collection, wrong! The color is stunning, but it is so bright and it looks almost neon like. Margherita looks a lot like MAC Sushi Kiss, except a more opaque version, it has a creamy and smooth consistency that glides on the lips effortlessly. The lipstick was neither drying nor hydrating and it has a standard lipstick wearing time.
