I am so excited to share with you my 2017 Beautylish Lucky Bag!

This is my second year buying the Beautylish Lucky Bags and I am loving this year's surprises more than last year's (click here for my review of 2016 Lucky Bag). Although I didn't get the makeup items that I really wish for, I did received a bunch of beauty products that I have never tried. So these are all new to me products and I love trying new things.

Just in case that you have never heard of or purchased a Beautylish Lucky Bag in the past, it's pretty much a mystery bag inspired by the Japanese New Year tradition of fukubukuro. I have only just learnt that there is different sized Lucky Bags, the one that I purchased is a normal sized and there is a XL sized that is only available for USA customers.

The one I bought is USD $75.00 plus USD $20.00 shipping to New Zealand and I have added a total cost of items I have received and it comes to USD $190.

Natasha Denona Blush Duo is described as a blush with soft and silky texture that gives a natural and bright look to the skin's complexion. The duo blusher palette provides a dominant colour on the right side and a more subtle colour on the left side for blending and softening edges.

Natasha Denona is a completely new brand to me, I have only just heard about this brand recently and I haven't tried any products them yet. I did came across a few very positive reviews on this makeup brand, a lot of people seems to really enjoy Natasha Denona's eyeshadow palettes and that has made me wondered about this brand.

Although I haven't tested the Blush Duo, I already have a great impression on this product. The packaging is super cute, it has a neon pink cover and a big mirror inside. The colours I got is #02 Toutou & #09 Golden Coral and both are beautiful summery shades. The only thing that I dislike about this blush is the smell, it has this very strange smell, almost like a cheap perfume scent.

BECCA Backlight Priming Filter is a lightweight, whipped fluid that creates a smooth canvas for your makeup, extending its wear from day to night. This product acts as an instant filter, creating a diffused, soft-focused radiance that allows your complexion to catch light for a glowing look.

I have tried this product over the weekend and I have worn this alone, without any foundations or powders on top. Although I have only tried this once, I am already loving this product and I feel so thankful to have received this in my 2017 Beautylish Lucky Bag.

I love that the BECCA Backlight Priming Filter gives me an instant healthy glow without being over-the-top sparkly and I like that it helps to blur imperfection and it seems to covers large pores very well. I have oily skin and on days that I wear completely no makeup, my face tends to get very oily and I would have to wash my face three to four times a day. I find that the Backlight Primer helps to controls facial oil very well and the product worn for eight hours on me, which is totally impressive!

 Z•PALETTE SMALL PALETTE HOT PINK | USD $14.00

Z•Palette Small Palette can fit up to nine MAC eyeshadows in those Pro Palette Refill Pan sized, I had this palette few years ago, but I didn't find it too useful then because I didn't know how to depot eyeshadows or blushes, so I got rid of it.

This year I have received another Small Z•Palette and surprisingly I am not disappointed. I am actually glad that Beautylish has included this item in my 2017 Lucky Bag and I am more than happy that they have chosen a pink one for me.

T15 HONEY BROWN TONES

Make-Up Atelier 5 Eye Shadows Palette comes in a sleek, travel-friendly palette that features five removable pans of pro-quality eye shadow in complementary shades. Each eyeshadow is formulated with a vivd colour payoff and a smooth, easily blendable formula with a long-lasting wear.

T15 Honey Brown Tones includes four warm brown shades and a champagne pearl shade, and these eyeshadows claims to be non-creasing during wear, water-resistant with a high-impact, full-coverage finish.

Make-Up Atelier is another completely new brand to me, I have never heard of this brand, neither seen any reviews on their product. I would only assume that this brand has been around for many years and it's mostly popular in the European countries.

2017 Beautylish Lucky Bag: IT Cosmetics Confident In A Cream

 IT COSMETICS CONFIDENT IN A CREAM | USD $48.00

IT Cosmetics Confident In A Cream is a moisturizer that hydrate, restore radiance, reduce the look of pores, uneven texture and discolouration. It says to be suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitives.

I have seen the brand IT Cosmetics on social medias many times, but I haven't tried their products yet. I did read some reviews on the Confident In A Cream upon unboxing the 2017 Beautylish Lucky Bag and many people has raved about this product. My only concern on this product is that 100% of the reviews I have read are from people with dry skin and I know that IT Cosmetics has mentioned that this is suitable for all skin type, but usually when a moisturizer is too hydrating, it doesn't work as well on my oily skin.

2017 Beautylish Lucky Bag: Wayne Goss Brush 08

 WAYNE GOSS BRUSH 08 | USD $17.00

Wayne Goss Brush 08 is handcrafted in Japan and it can be used on the eyes or the brows. It claims to make tightening easy so that you can work close to the lashline without smearing colour onto the lid, and when using this brush to fill in the brows, it claims to give you the perfect natural look.

I feel like Beautylish is trying to tell me something... Like, wear more eyes products maybe?! I have received two Wayne Goss eye brushes two years in a row, and I am not complaining, because Wayne Goss brushes are totally great qualities! The bristles are very soft and they work as well as it claims.

IS 2017 BEAUTYLISH LUCKY BAG WORTH IT?! 

YES! DEFINITELY! I love the surprises that I have received this year and I feel so lucky to have received the items mentioned above. 

Let's be honest, I was very scared of opening my package when it arrived because 90% of the unboxing I have seen on Weibo was such disappointment. Some people has received Lucas Papaw Ointment, brush cleaners or micellar cleanser, and I am not saying that these products are not good, but I just think that it's no surprise because you can buy these products in the supermarket. 

Also, Beautylish has promised USD $150.00 worth of full sized products and some of them I have seen don't seem to be too full sized. 

Anyway, I just feel so thankful to have a great start this year with my beauty obsession.

Ever since I returned from my Europe trip two weeks ago, I have been feeling not as motivated as I should be towards my blog; I am going through that "I'm so busy with life and I can't be bothered" phase again and I don't want to just give up as I have put my all into this blog. 

I have to constantly remind myself why I started this blog and I am trying to bring back motivation.

Before I share my first impression with you, I just want to say that I am aware of the Jeffree Star drama and I think everyone has a past and people can change.

As always, I review beauty products based on the quality and performance of the item and I won't be judging the products based on the creators or their personal life.

I have tried a few of the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks in the past, including the Limited Edition Dirty Money grey-toned green liquid lipstick that I have reviewed here. My feelings toward these liquid lipstick is confusing, sometimes I absolutely adore them and sometimes it's so meh ~ I think it all depends on the colors, most of them are very long wearing and conformable during wear, and some of them are just so drying that the products starts peeling off during wear.

The Jeffree Star Beautylish Summer Delight Lip Box includes three of the newest liquid lipsticks from the Summer 2016 Collection, these are Limited Edition products and they are packaged in a neon yellow and pink packaging.

I bought the Summer Delight Lip Box mainly for the packaging, as I love the designed on the box; and also I had my eyes on the shade Watermelon Soda, but I wasn't able to buy it on its' own as it is a popular shade and it was sold out before I could reach for it.

The Summer Delight Lip Box includes Velour Liquid Lipstick shades in Watermelon Soda, Nude Beach and Virginity and these liquid lipsticks claims to goes on opaque, dries completely matte and stay on for hours. I agree to all except that they forgot to mention both Nude Beach and Virginity will only suit those with very pale skin tones.

JEFFREE STAR WATERMELON SODA is a neon pink red that looked absolutely gorgeous in online promotion photos and hand swatches, but it didn't look as good on me, (non of the colors from this set looked good on me, hence no lip swatches). The color has an opaque finish, but it was also streaky upon application. Apart from the bad applications and looking weird on me, I actually really liked Watermelon Soda as it was lightweight during wear, transfer-proof and it does not feathered.

JEFFREE STAR NUDE BEACH is described as a unique nude that claims to look really cool on different skin tones; sorry Jeffree, I disagree to your claim as it looked horrible on me! Nude Beach was the hardest to apply out of all three shades, it was very streaky and it takes three to four layers to cover the whole lips, once I am done applying the product, it then felt very heavy and when it dries down it starts to crack. The color was also the worst out of the three, it looked like a pale, dirty yellow when completely dried matte.

JEFFREE STAR VIRGINITY is a pasty lavender that made me looked very pale and looked as if I was unhealthy. I can just imagine how beautiful it would look on people with a lighter skin tone. Virginity isn't as opaque as the darker shades and it takes more than two layers of application to cover the whole lips. I find that it was drying and not so lightweight during wear, not sure on its' longevity as the longest I have worn it was half an hour.

JEFFREE STAR SUMMER DELIGHT LIP BOX has given me a not-so-great first impression, but I can't really complaint as I did expect it to be not-so-great prior to placing my order. I knew that the colors included would be either too neon or too light for me, but I still wanted to buy this because of the packaging of the box and also the watermelon scent of this product.

The watermelon scent was especially made for the Summer 2016 Collection, but it was a disappointment too as it smells like chemical.

Forget the negatives, there are some positive thoughts on the Summer Delight lip Box too. The colors swatched beautifully on hand and Watermelon Soda is the best shade out of the three. As mentioned, I love the design of the box and I adore the neon yellow packaging with the pink stars.

Beautylish Lucky Bag 2016 comes packaged in a medium sized box with layered and layered of gift wrapping tissue papers and the products itself is wrapped in bubble wraps for extra protection to avoid damaged during shipment.

I placed my pre-order of the lucky bag on 27 December 2015, it was shipped on 04 January 2016 and I received my parcel on 13 January 2016. It took less than ten days to arrived.

I have wanted this palette for a very long time, but every time I looked online, it is always out of stock. I love the colour combination of the palette, you have the everyday neutrals, the smokey black and a few other fun colours. The texture of these eye shadows are very soft and creamy, they blends beautifully and the colours has a "one-swipe" pigmentation.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O

Bioderma Sensibio H2O 100ml | USD $6.95 is a non-rinse micellar cleanser and makeup remover specially formulated for sensitive, normal to dry skin types. It can also remove waterproof face and eye makeup. It is fragrance-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free and it claims to clear up irritated skin and produces a feeling of instant freshness.

I have had a bad experience with the Garnier Cleansing Micellar Water and since then on I try to avoid micellar water as much as I can. Although a lot of people has recommended me to try Bioderma, I didn't think it was good enough for me to spend any money on a product that I know I would not use.

I am actually glad that the Bioderma Sensibio H2O was included in my lucky bag. At the moment I am only judging on the product by its name, it could be an amazing product that I will end up loving, or it could be a product that I will use and don't feel to find it to be a big deal.

I got the colour Moonstone and it is described as a pale gold. I already own Moonstone in the pressed powder version, so I was very glad that I got the creme one instead.

Kevyn Aucoin The Matte Bronzing Veil | USD $56.00 is described as a silky, ultra-fine powder that adds a bronzed glow to skin. It is lightweight and buildable with a matte finish that has a velvety texture, it can be used to bronze skin and sculpt the face.

This bronzer has two shades and I received Desert Nights, the darker one; it is described as a matte deep warm bronze. The colour is a little too orangey on me and I wish that I got the lighter shade. The texture is soft and easy to blend, the colour is not too pigmented, I feel like it has just the right amount of pigmentation.

Wayne Goss Brush 05

Wayne Goss Brush 05 | USD $20.00 is designed as the perfect little brush for any small areas such as lower and upper lash line, it can also be used as a lip brush.

I have heard amazing things about the Wayne Goss makeup brushes, people says its quality and design is top notch, but the prices is too much, so I never thought that I would have a chance to try any of these brushes from Wayne Goss.

Overall, I feel so lucky to have received a bag full of products that I like and know that I would use. I have seen other people's unboxing of their 2016 Beautylish Lucky Bag, there's lucky bags and there's unlucky bags, some people received Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow quads which I am totally jealous of and some people received Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks which I am so thankful that I didn't receive one.

Beautylish Lucky Bag 2016 was USD $75.00, plus ten dollars for shipping to New Zealand; in total the bag cost USD $85.00 and the total cost of the products I have received is USD $179.95!
