SMASHBOX ♡ Full Exposure Travel Palette // First Impression + Swatches

Smashbox Full Exposure Travel Palette

Smashbox Full Exposure Palette is one of the most talked about eye shadow palettes, along with Lorac Pro and the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette (still haven't got my hands on both, I don't need them, already have enough eye shadow palettes to last me a life time! But... but they are all sooo pretty ~ Hmm should I?!).

I was so tempted to get my hands on the full size Smashbox Full Exposure Palette, but then as I was scrolling through Sephora "window shopping", I spot the travel size one for half the price of the full size one. So of course, I jumped straight into ordering it as I assume it is only a little bit smaller than the full size. Well I assume wrong! I can't say I am disappointed at the size of the palette, pretty sure the size is stated clearly on Sephora, I just didn't read carefully and plus, I shouldn't have such high expectation.

Anyway, size does matter, but it isn't as important as the product itself. These are some super gorgeous and very pigmented, high quality eye shadows; even if the size of the palette kind of disappointed me a little, I still can't complain! I have put the Smashbox Full Exposure Travel Palette to test over the weekend and I absolutely love it! So today I will be writing a First Impression, not a full review since I haven't had it for long enough and products tends to change in my liking levels after awhile; also a few people have asked for swatches of this palette, so this post is for those of you who wondered about the quality, pigmentation and color selection.

♡ PACKAGING:
This is a very "TRAVEL SIZE" travel size palette, it is small enough to carry in a small makeup purse and convenient enough to carry it anywhere with you! Even if you were partying in town one night and you have a habit of doing a touch-up during the night, but you weren't planning to carry a purse with you; this can be easily slip into your bra and/or it is lightweight enough to get your boyfriend / guy friend to carry it for you in their pockets, even if they are a skinny jeans type of guy. Okay ~ My point is, this palette is so thin and small!

The quality of the packaging is... not impressive >.< The palette is made of cheap plastics that feels like they will snap any time soon, I struggle to open the case every single time and once it's opened, the case seems like it's not sturdy. Overall the packaging gives me that cheap $2 shop pretend makeup sets feel.

♡ PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS:

Smashbox Full Exposure Travel Palette

4 x 0.026 oz Matte Eye shades in:
♥ Warm Chocolate Brown // M1
♥ Soft Matte Mid-tone Tan // M3
♥ Creamy Matte Beige // M4
♥ Ashy Dark Brown // M6

I have never tried Smashbox eye shadows until now, and I am very glad to say their products quality is very impressive. I have tried numerous matte eye shadows from other brands and most of the time matte eye shadows tends to be chalky and powdery. This one is a little powdery when I dip my makeup brushes in the eye shadow pan, but it's not chalky nor powdery once it goes on my skin. The matte eye shadows applies smoothly and blends well.

M1 (Warm Chocolate Brown) and M6 (Ashy Dark Brown) are very pigmented, a little products goes a long way; but M3 (Soft Matte Mid-tone Tan) is okay, I use it as a base color and M4 (Creamy Matte Beige) hardly shows up on my skin, I have tried using it on my brow bone but it doesn't really show unless if I pack a lot of products on.

4 x 0.026 oz Shimmer Eye shades in:
♥ Chocolate Brown with Golden Pearl // S1
♥ Soft Gold with Silver Pearl // S3
♥ Light Tan with Golden Silver Pearl // S4
♥ Mid-tone Slate with Silver Pearl // S6

Smashbox's shimmer eye shadows are just as impressive as their matte eye shadows. These are powdery when I dip my makeup brushes in the pan, but it doesn't appears as powdery, chalky and/or messy with glitter / shimmer falling outs once apply on the eyes. The shimmer eye shadows also applies smoothly and blends well, these aren't just shimmer, I would say they are more glittery than shimmers (in person).

All four shimmer shades from this palette are very pigmented and full of glitter, you can create a subtle shimmer look or can build up for a more sparkly look.

I have only worn the eye shadows for approximately four hours (both matte and shimmer shades), during the four hours no fades nor creasing (I have used Benefit's Stay Don't Stray eye shadow primer prior to the eye shadows). My favourite part of the wearing time was, the shades, especially the shimmer ones, looks so beautiful in the sun!
