FIRST IMPRESSION ♥ ft. Guerlain Petrouchka Eye & Blush Palette & Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick #366 Fall In Rose

Last time I was in Smith & Caughey's, I was so blown away by a few buttery-smooth and super pigmented swatches of Guerlain's eyeshadows, seriously, there is no words to describe how amazing their product is.

I no longer set random no buy monthly rules for myself, because once you have become a shopaholic, it is very hard to stop, plus, I am a girl and shopping is more than normal in my daily routine. No more no buy monthly rules doesn't mean that I can buy whatever I want, if the product is expensive, but it's amazing, I still have to think twice about it.

So when I was in Smith & Caughey's, I have walked in and out of the store three times and I finally decided to get the Gerlain Petrouchka Palette & a Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick; with absolutely no regrets, I adore the stuff I got and today I am so excited to share with you some pictures and swatches of these Guerlain goodies.

Guerlain Petrouchka Eye & Blush Palette is a Limited Edition palette that launched with the Guerlain A Night At The Opera collection in 2014. I remember eyeing up on the Meteorites Perles d'Etoiles Illuminating Pearls when the collection became available on the Smith & Caughey's website, but just as I was about to add it to my cart, it was already showing as 'sold out', *disappointed emoji*. Lucky enough I was able to check out the store on the same night, but they were also sold out in-store, can you imagine my sad face?

First of all, I was blown away by the smell, I don't know how to describe the scent, it smells so elegant, so beautiful, so fresh, so feminine and the list goes on... Then there is the packaging, the color theme, the design, just, omg, serious, speechless.

Guerlain Petrouchka Eye & Blush Palette comes packaged in a gold compact with two trays inside, when you open up the palette, you will see a tray of five eyeshadows, then you lift up the middle part, you will see four blushes underneath.

This palette comes with a black velvet bag along with a beautiful red blush brush and a black mini double ended eyeshadow applicator, the size of the palette is a bit chunky, but it is travel friendly as it comes with a big mirror. The Guerlain Petrouchka Palette also comes with a red ribbon band, it can be worn as a hair tie or a bracelet. I personally think it is a bit too expensive to use as a hair tie and too uncomfortable to use as a bracelet, if you have small wrist that not even a standard bracelet fits, then it is very annoying as the bow part just keeps sliding down and won't stay on top.

There are five eyeshadows included in the Guerlain Petrouchka Eye & Blush Palette, the texture of each eyeshadow is silky smooth, it is creamy, velvety and they apply so amazingly. I know I have probably say this about all other eyeshadow palettes that I have reviewed in the past, but the formula of these is beyond amazing!

All five eyeshadows are warm-toned with a frost finish, they are incredibly pigmented even for the lighter shades and each eyeshadow applies and blends very well together. These are not one of those super shimmery, glitter in yo-face type of frosty eyeshadows, you can easily create a natural day look and/or a smokey night look with this palette.

As mentioned on top of the post, there is a tray of eyeshadows and another tray of blush on the bottom when lift up the middle tray. The Guerlain Petrouchka Palette includes four blushes, these are also very pigmented and the texture is soft and velvety.

When I first tried these blushes, I made a mistake of being too heavy handed; lol, really didn't expect them to be so pigmented as they look quite sheer in the pan. The blushes also applies and blends nicely and a they are one of those "a little goes a long way" kind of products.

I finally got to try the Guerlain Petrouchka Eye & Blush Palette in a makeup look yesterday and I usually take a million of selfies before choosing one or two that I think is good enough for the blog. Sadly I was not able to do that as my camera's battery died before I even had a chance to take some good quality photos.

I did took some pictures from my iPhone, but the quality is very bad as you can see below.

I will re-create or create another look with this palette and next time I will make sure my camera's battery is full so you guys can see how amazing these eyeshadows and blushes are when worn on the face!

In the above makeup look I have also tried the new Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick that I have purchased along with the Guerlain Petrouchka Palette. The lipstick shade worn is #366 Fall In Rose. I was told that this is one of Guerlain's most popular color from their KissKiss Lipstick range.

Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick is described as "an ultra-smooth, rich, creamy texture that provides an incredible lip-shaping and plumping effect and the formula ensure that lips are smooth and hydrated during wear".

I think this is the revamp version of Guerlain's iconic KissKiss Lipstick range, there are 25 shades available and all are permanent shades.

Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick in #366 Fall In Rose is a gorgeous peachy pink, it was love at first sight! Even thou I have only worn it once, I have already fallen in love with it's rich formula; very creamy, glides on smoothly, not messy and last for hours.

In-depth review to come in the future.

Guerlain KissKiss #366 Fall In Rose Lipstick

Overall, money well spent on both the Guerlain Petrouchka Eye & Blush Palette and the Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick! Both product's qualities are as expected from a high-end brand, the price is sky high but the quality definitely did not disappoint.

Things I Love:

Things I Love:
Guerlain KissKiss #366 Fall In Rose Lipstick

Things I Dislike:
image SO DAMN EXPENSIVE!

Guerlain Petrouchka Palette - NZD $164
Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick - NZD 50
(not sure on the exact price as both items were purchased awhile ago, the prices are around the price stated above, somewhere around that price range)

Guerlain Petrouchka Eye & Blush Palette is Limited Edition and I am not sure where you can purchase it, last time I looked online on Smith & Caughey's is no longer available and I took the last one in-store heheh.

Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick is a permanent range and they are available in-store in Smith & Caughey's.

  2. OMGAWD. HAND IT OVER! I've seen quite a few beauty obsessed ladies like ourselves review this palette and I love every part of it. I seriously am in love with that slightly translucent and multidimensional shimmery finish of those shadows and the blushes...dear god, I'd love to just own that layer! And most importantly I truly appreciate that there aren't any lip colors in the palette as I seriously wouldn't touch them all all! Great look and review, you've just got me all excited!

    1. I was hoping there's a lips layer so that if travelling with this palette, you won't have to bring extra things! & since it is already bulky enough, it's no difference to add another layer :p but even without the lip palette, I still absolutely adore this set! the quality is so SO AMAZING, it's like beyond high-end!
