One of my childhood friends came to visit in New Zealand earlier this year and being two girls who loves makeup, we have talked about the beauty brands we like and the products we recommended.

This friend of mine is really into the Korean thing, she loves Korean drama, Korean boys and she is very familiar with Korean beauty; me on the other hand is more into the American and European beauty brands. So we shared our opinions and I was recommended to try the brand Clio, which she claimed to be the best and most popular brand in Asia at the moment.

I have been trying a lot of Korean brand BB Cushion lately and when the CLIO Kill Cover Liquid Founwear Cushion was on sale on Hikoco (New Zealand K-Beauty online store), I thought why not?! The set comes with a BB Cushion with a free refill and it was only NZD $39.00! I bought it in the shade 03 Linen and it is a good color match for my NC25 skin tone.

 PRODUCT INFORMATION

CLIO Kill Cover Liquid Founwear Cushion is created with a formula that includes 52% of a hydrating ampoule, it aims to deliver a long-lasting and intensive hydration without feeling greasy or heavy. This BB Cushion claims to provides a natural and seamless coverage that will even uneven skin tone and it aims to provides a beautiful, silky and radiant complexion.

 COLOR SELECTION

02 LINGERIE - a vibrant rose beige
03 LINEN - a yellow based natural beige to neutralized redness
04 GINGER - a medium beige

There are three shade selection available, when I bought mine there were only two shades to choose from and it was either 03 Linen or 04 Ginger.

04 Ginger was a little too dark, so I went for 03 Linen. The color ends up matching pretty well and it covers the redness around my nose pretty well.

 PACKAGING

CLIO Kill Cover Liquid Founwear Cushion comes packaged in a two compartment compact, it is a lot bulkier compared to any standard BB Cushion and the casing is hard to close properly, unless if push it hard enough.

I actually quite like the packaging despite its' bulkiness, I like that it comes with a good sized mirror, it isn't heavy and it is nice to carry around, also the outer design of the packaging is simple and the compact has a black interior that even when the compact gets dirty, it is hardly noticeable.

CLIO Kill Cover Cushion contains a air puff that has a very hard and tense texture, it's not soft like the standard air puff (those with the blue surface) and I find that the CLIO one is harder to press onto the face area and blend.

I find that the CLIO Kill Cover Cushion is a very different in packaging to all other standard BB / CC Cushion, the outer packaging is the same, but the actual product is different. The cushion itself is very hard, plus the air puff has a hard texture too, so when I use the cushion I had to push it down with a bit of strength... (I exaggerated a bit, but you know what I mean).

CLIO Kill Cover Liquid Founwear Cushion has a brightening effect that instantly brightens up my complexion upon application. It has a medium coverage that covers most imperfection and on some area that I had to layer over twice to get the full coverage look.

I think that this cushion is designed for dry skin to normal skin type, I obviously didn't read the descriptions properly when I bought this product as I only found out that it's for dry skin. If you have been reading my blog you would probably know that I have oily skin, and I especially get very oily around the T-zone during the day.

CLIO Kill Cover Cushion may be designed for dry to normal skin type, but it wears well on oily skin too, the formula is moisturizing during wear and it delivers a dewy complexion without looking like my face is dripping in oil. The cushion tends to move around and feels sticky upon application, but once I set it with powder, it wears well for approximately five hours on me before I had to touch-up during the day.

The texture is thin and watery, but it doesn't feel weightless, neither heavy. It doesn't provide that flawless look but it is good enough to cover the redness and uneven skin tones.

Also, it has a strong shampoo scent that disappear within minutes of application.

OVERALL RATING

I give the CLIO Kill Cover Liquid Founwear Cushion a rating of three out of five stars strawberries. I LIKE THAT the cushion has a medium coverage that covers up most imperfection, redness and uneven skin tones, I like that it wears for a long amount of time despite not made for oily skin and when touch-up during the day, the product layered over doesn't make my face look cakey or feel heavy and I like that the cushion brightens up my complexion and my face also has that dewy look during wear. I DISLIKE THAT if not set the cushion with powder, it moves around easily and my face would feel sticky during wear. I dislike that the cushion has a hard texture and the air puff isn't so easy to work with too and I dislike that even though it doesn't feel heavy during wear, it does feel like I have something on my face, it's not uncomfortable or when I look in the mirror my face doesn't look oily, but I could feel when my face starts to get oily, if that makes sense?!
