Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection ♡ ft. Kylie Lip Kits, Metal Lipsticks & Kylie Gloss + Swatches

HAPPY 2017!

Today I am sharing with you my Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection.

Kylie Cosmetics is one of the most talked about beauty brands in 2016, I am absolutely obsessed with their liquid lipsticks and I wish that I could collect every single items and colours that the brand has ever released; but I have made some saving plans this year, I want to control my shopping and I have decided to only buy the makeup and skincare that I need, not what I want.

I have previously made similar plans and set myself similar rules, but obviously I have failed because I just cannot get my hands off when I see cute things. This year I promise myself that I am going to try my best.

♥︎ KYLIE LIP KITS ♥︎

At the moment I own twelve sets of Kylie Lip Kits and in my collection it includes two Limited Edition sets, one from the Birthday Collection with the gold packaging and another from the Holiday Collection with the silver packaging.

Each Kylie Lip Kit contains one matte liquid lipstick and a matching pencil lip liner. As mentioned, I am obsessed with the liquid lipsticks, I love that they dries completely matte without drying out my lips during wear, the formula is lightweight and it feels as if you're not wearing anything, I love that they smell like vanilla cupcakes and they wear for long hours as long as you don't touch oily food.

The pencil lip liners has a creamy texture that glides on smoothly, but I hate them! I know hate is a strong word, but there is no other appropriate words that I can think of to describe their lip liners. The formula is very creamy and they goes perfectly with the liquid lipsticks, but they break so easily! The product breaks upon application, it breaks inside the pencil and sometimes it slides up and down of the pencil. So let's say, I have sharpened the lip pencil and it looks perfect, I start to draw my lip line and the lip liner starts to slide down until it disappeared and before I completely draw my lips, I would have to sharpen the pencil again, how frustrating?!

Also, I find that Kylie's liquid lipstick all has this same problem... Like they oxidized or something. Every single shades I have tried turns into a shade darker when dries completely matte and all the darker shades or Limited Edition shades all applies patchy and uneven.

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Koko K Kylie Lip Kit

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Koko K Kylie Lip Kit

KOKO K is described as a pale pink. It looks like a very pale nude-ish pink in the tube, but once the formula dries to a complete matte, the colour turns into the prettiest light pink. I love Koko K and it is my most used shade in 2016.

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Candy K Kylie Lip Kit

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Candy K Kylie Lip Kit

CANDY K is described as a warm pink nude. It looks a shade darker than Koko K in the tube, but when it dries matte, it turns into a nude-ish medium brown. Candy K was initially my number one favourite and then I start to notice that the colour looks more and more brown during each wear.

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Posie K Kylie Lip Kit

POSIE K is described as a cool mid-tone berry. It is a mauvey pinky purple and the colour looks quite accurate as shown in the tube. Posie K was also another favourite, but ever since Kylie Cosmetics released some newer shades, I find that I hardly wear this one now.

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Dolce K Kylie Lip Kit

DOLCE K is described as a deep beige nude. The colour is simply a brown when dries matte and it dries to a darker shade than what is shown in the tube. I haven't worn Dolce K too many times as I have always thought that it's an ugly colour and while I was drafting this post and swatching the Lip Kits both on hands and on lips, I find that Dolce K is actually a pretty on-trend colour. It's not too dark as I have always imagined and it is quite wearable in day time.

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Moon Kylie Lip Kit

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Moon Kylie Lip Kit

MOON is described as a taupe-y nude. It is a newly released Lip Kit shade that had my mouth drooling over every time I see it. I finally bought It and I am disappointed to say that Moon is nothing as to what I have imagined simply because the colour dries to a dark grey brown.

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: True Brown K Kylie Lip Kit

TRUE BROWN K is described as a deep chocolate brown. This is my least favourite shade of all the Lip Kits I own in my collection! I dislike it because 1) the colour dries to a dirty yellow brown and 2) the colours separates in the tube, so the tube sometimes looks like brown and yellow and sometimes it turns into a brown and orange.

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Ginger Kylie Lip Kit

GINGER is described as a warm terracotta brown. This is MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE, apart from Koko K! I find that the colour looks like a peachy coral-ish brown upon first application and it dries to a mid-tone ginger brown.

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: 22 Kylie Lip Kit

22 is described as a vibrant burnt orange. The colour dries to a mid-tone orange and it is not as bright and vibrant as imagined. I have worn 22 twice ever since I bought the Lip Kit and during the second try, which was recently, I find that 22 is actually quite wearable and it's not as scary bright.

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Mary Jo K Kylie Lip Kit

MARY JO K is described as a true blue red. The colour looks bright and vibrant both in the tube and once the formula dries matte. I don't wear red lipsticks too often, but I love Mary Jo K! Whenever I wear this lip colour, it makes me feels very confident.

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Kristen Kylie Lip Kit

KRISTEN is described as warm brown berry. The colour dries to a brightened coral and it is surprisingly wearable on a daily basis.

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Leo Kylie Lip Kit
Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Leo Kylie Lip Kit
Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Leo Kylie Lip Kit

LEO is described as a true deep burgundy. Leo was first released as part of the Limited Edition Birthday Collection which features gold drippy packaging, due to popular demand, Kylie Cosmetics has bought the Lip Kit back as a permanent item. I love the colour of Leo, it's a darkened wine shade when dries matte, but I don't love the formula, at all. I find that the formula is very patchy and it applies uneven.

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Merry Kylie Lip Kit

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Merry Kylie Lip Kit

MERRY is described as a deepened rich red. Merry was released as part of the Holiday 2016 Collection which features silver drippy design. It has the same problem as Leo, the formula is patchy and even, but the colour is very pretty.

♥︎ KYLIE METAL LIPSTICK ♥︎

Kylie Cosmetics has described their Metals range as "Liquid Lipstick meets Metallics", the Kylie Metal Lipsticks claims to provides bold metallic lips with a creamy feel and rich mousey texture that is long wearing and does not ever dry down, it claims to keep lips moisturised and comfortable during wear with a shimmering metallic finish.

I have this frenemy friendship with the Kylie Metal Lipstick range, I love that all the colours are shimmery and pretty and I dislike that the texture is so mousey and creamy that it often applies uneven. Maybe it's just me, I can't seem to make metallics lips work.

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: King K Metal Lipstick

KING K is described as soft metallic gold. It has a soft mousey texture that glides on the lips smoothly, but it applies streaky and uneven. It has a high pigmentation and the formula is quite thick.

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Heir Metal Lipstick

HEIR is described as a golden metallic peach. I love Heir, I love the shimmery pale nude colour, but I also dislike it because it applies very streaky and uneven.

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Dancer Metal Lipstick
Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Dancer Metal Lipstick
Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks Collection: Dancer Metal Lipstick

DANCER is described as a shimmering ruby wine. Dancer was released as part of the Holiday 2016 Collection that features the silver drippy design. I absolutely love the shimmery wine red colour and I like that it leaves a pink stain on the lips after removable. Unfortunately, this has the same problem as all the other Metal Lipsticks. Dancer has a sheer pigmentation that applies streaky, uneven and patchy.

♥︎ KYLIE GLOSS ♥︎

Kylie Lip Gloss is described as an ultra-pigmented, lustrous gloss that glides on the lips smoothly and evenly leaving behind a luminous and voluminous effect. It claims to provide enough hydration and moisturize the lips during wear and also to deliver a long lasting brilliantly glossy look.

When it comes to lip gloss, I don't mind the stickiness, and I don't mind the short wearing time because lip gloss aren't suppose to be very long wearing.

Kylie Glosses and I also have this love hate friendship, I like them and I don't...

I love that Kylie Lip Gloss has such a good opaque coverage and they are long wearing compared to other lip glosses. I like that it has a smooth texture that glides on easily and evenly.

I dislike that the texture is very thick and creamy, and it feels as if I had something on the lips during wear. It is VERY STICKY and it gives you that streaky look when opening the mouth. Kylie Gloss doesn't have the same sweet vanilla cupcake scents as to all her other lip products, instead this one have a strong play-doh smell.

  1. I love your collection Kay! The matte lip kits look amazing on you! You wear them better than I do. I'm preferring her glosses & metals. This was an excellent review. I can't wait to see what she has to offer in 2017. I'm holding back also. LOL Good Luck!
