KPOP x Australis Contour, Highlight, Blush ♡ Review + Swatches

KPOP x Australis Contour, Highlight, Blush

Tonight I am sharing with you my review and swatches of the contour, highlighter and blush from the KPOP x Australis Collection. I spot these in Farmers the other day and the cute pink heart-shaped tin cases was what made me fell in love with the collection.

If I remember it correctly, the last time that I have used an Australis product was back when their Velourlips was a thing. I am not a huge fan of this brand because majority of their products don't work well on me, so I have always avoid buying this brand even when they have launched products that everyone loves.

I decided to buy the contour, highlighter and the blush because upon swatching the shades in store, the texture, the pigmentation and the colours were so impressive. I have been using these for a week, there's pro and there's con, but overall I love these!

KPOP x Australis Contour, Highlight, Blush

The KPOP x Australis Collection contains various products such as an illuminating cushion, lip tints, mascara, contour powder, highlighter, blush and an eyeliner. There is absolutely no information of this collection found online, nor in store, therefore, I cannot make up information to share with you on what inspired Australis to create this collection etc; but I will say that KPOP and Korean beauty trends has been the thing in 2017.

KPOP x Australis Contour, Highlight, Blush

The KPOP x Australis contour, highlighter and blush are made in Taiwan and each product comes packaged in a cute little tin case that is shaped like a heart. The actual product is tiny and it feels like a sample sized or a regular eyeshadow pan, but the sizing and how much product it contains doesn't really bother me. These are NZD $9.99 each and I have depot them into a Z Palette to save time in the morning.

KPOP x Australis Heart Tin Highlight
KPOP x Australis Heart Tin Highlight

KPOP x Australis Heart Tin Highlight is such a beautiful highlighter and it wears up to seven hours on me before fading away. I love that it applies with a subtle glow without being too blinding, but the highlight only shows up on skin when applied with fingers. I have tried this highlighter a couple of times with different types of brushes and non could pick up the colours. I also find that the highlighting powder is very fine and powdery.

KPOP x Australis Heart Tin Blush
KPOP x Australis Heart Tin Blush

KPOP x Australis Heart Tin Blush is pigmented upon swatching on hand, but when applied with a blush brush, it delivers a subtle flush. I have tried applying the blush with my fingers and it just doesn't work at all as it doesn't blend well. The blush is powdery, but it's not as bad as the highlighter and the bronzer and it can wear for up to ten hours on me.

KPOP x Australis Heart Tin Contour is my favourite out of all three products reviewed tonight. I love that the contour has a creamy, soft and blendable texture that is buildable. The shade is more on a warmer side, but it has the perfect undertone, for me. It just looks absolutely gorgeous and I love it! The contour is the most powdery out of all three and it can wear up to eight hours on me.

Overall, I am glad that I have purchased these products to try as they are really amazing, but to be honest with you, non of these products scream KOREAN BEAUTY / KPOP to me.

What do you think?

Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream Swatches ♥ Old & New Shades

Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream L-R:
PA-REE, HO-CHEE-MIN, LUN-DUN, MA-LI-BOO, MI-A-MEE, RIO-D, NY-CEE

Back in April 2014, I posted a Farmers haul where I tried out two of the Australis Velourlips for the first time! I had mix feelings of the products at the time of my haul, I love the bright and eye-catching colors; but not so much of the formula, I didn't like how the products sets too fast and if applies too many layers, it turns into a clay texture.

So I sold both of the Australis Velourlips and had no plans of trying more because of its dry formula and uncomfortable wear. Who would have guessed when Australis released five more new shades in November, I ran straight to Farmers as soon as it became available and grabbed a few, plus some other old shades. I have decided to give them another go.

Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream L-R:
PA-REE, HO-CHEE-MIN, LUN-DUN, MA-LI-BOO, MI-A-MEE, RIO-D, NY-CEE

Australis Velourlips is described as a highly pigmented lip cream that sets into a beautiful matte finish. Australis claims the creamy long-wear formula glides on easily with the doe-foot applicator, finishing to a velvety matte look with an intense, full-coverage color payoff. The Velourlips range is vegan friendly and it says to be the perfect lip product for anyone that wants a matte lip products that last all day without caking and flaking.

There are ten shades available in the Australis Velourlips, five old shades and five new shades that has been released sometimes in November last year.

I currently own seven of the Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream, four from the old shades and three new ones from the new release. Before I go ahead and describe the colors, I just want to say that each of the Australis Velourlips lip cream names are very messed up lol! I have double, no, triple check each of the name printed on the bottom and I am 100% sure I have got the names right; but when I check on their website, it is spell in a different way! o.o

Left to right:
PA-REE (old shade) - the perfect nude
HO-CHEE-MIN (new shade) - pale cool tone pink
LUN-DUN (new shade) - mauvey pinky purple
MA-LI-BOO (old shade) - bright barbie pink
MI-A-MEE (new shade) - bright coral watermelon pink
RIO-D (old shade) - bright orange
NY-CEE (old shade) - vibrant glamour red

Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream MI-A-MEE

Australis Velourlips available to purchase at:
Farmers - NZD $17.50 (only available in-store)
Australis Website - AUD $9.95 (only ship within Australia)

I am loving the new shades Australis has released in November '14, the new colors are still eye-catching, but they are more wearable! Sadly they did not improve the formula, the texture is still as clay-ish as it was if apply more than one layer, it cakes up, crack and flakes. Some people says you just need to learn the 'techniques' of applying these Velourlips .

Anyway, which of these shades is your favourite? Have you tried any of the new colors and what are your thoughts on this whole Velourlips range?

NZ Sale Mini Haul ♥ Australis Blushes

It's sh*t bad weather like today that many people are wishing they have an indoor job and me, I am so thankful to have an office job, to be able to sit here with a roof on top and browse the internet for good Easter deals ;) Oh, I won't be online shopping today, or this week even thou Sephora did refund my cancelled order, I am still on a shopping ban ~

Australis was having a massive sale on NZ Sale awhile ago, products were as low price as just $2.00 and so today I am going to show y`all what I got from my NZ Sale order.

I have placed an order for 3 Australis Blushes in shades: Baby Doll, Fantasy and Rosy Cheeks ($2.00 each) and 2 Australis Creme Color Blushes in shades: Dusky Rose and Flirtatious Pink ($2.00 each), total cost $10.00 + $7.50 shipping which took nearly one month. It's no surprise, NZ Sale is famous for its crazy long shipping time.

One of the blushes (Fantasy) came broken and I had to throw it away cause shimmers were falling everywhere. :( I emailed NZ Sale and complained about the broken blush, they replied within 48 hours with very good customer service, they told me they don't do refunds but since this product came broken, they'd be happy to solve this if I send in some proofs. As I was getting ready to send in some proofs, I realize these were only $2.00 each and so I told myself, you know what?! They have replied with good manners, I should let this go, its only $2.00!

Australis creme color blush: Dusky Rose (left) and Flirtatious Pink (right). These can be used for both cheeks and lips.

.
Australis blush in Fantasy, which came broken, or let's say "smashed".

The Australis blushes (not the creme color ones) each came with a small brush applicator , which is pretty useless; as you can see from the broken blush, it's a very small brush! I won't be going into much details for the blushes today as I have only swatched them on my arms, I haven't got a chance to use any of these on my face so I can't say a lot.

I can tell you that these are very good quality blushes for drugstore makeup, very pigmented and also buildable, check out my awesome swatches below.

Gorgeous shades right? Which one is your favourite?

Farmers Beauty Haul ♡ Maybelline, Chi Chi, Australis

If you were born in the Year of the Horse, this is YOUR year and it also means you may experience a lot of financial problems; or that's what it says on the Chinese calender! Or maybe it's just me... A shoppaholic will always experience financial problems and this year I am not feeling lucky at all.

I have had so many bad online shopping experiences this year, bad experiences like spending a couple hundred of $$$ on Sephora and Macy and had my orders cancelled while the companies or my bank holds my $$$ :( I feel like time is going so slow while waiting for my refund... *sigh* I can't shop online now until I get my refund and I can't just stop shopping over all cause of the urge of getting my hands on that lipstick... arghhh!

So... I turn to in-store shopping, sure that won't cause me any troubles? I like that I can swatch these products and decide if they are suitable for me before I swipe my card and say good-bye to the dollars :) But the downside is, these prices are rip-offs! New Zealand prices are just, ridiculous! and that's what I dislike about shopping in-store, in New Zealand stores!

I bought 2 Maybelline lipsticks ($21.99 each) on a buy one get one free deal, 2 Chi Chi Cosmetics matte lipsticks ($22.99 each) on a buy one get another half price deal and 2 Australis Velourlips Lip Cream ($17.50 each) on a buy one get another half price deal. All came together $82.72. So expensive! If that was in America, It would probably cost less than $30.00 even when non is on sale!

Anyway, even thou I am not happy with the prices, I am happy with the products. So I will stop with the blabbing and show you what I got ^^ .

☆ Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick - Electric Orange
☆ Maybelline Bold Matte by ColorSensational - Mat 1

Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick - Electric Orange
I think this is from the ColorSensational Vivids Lip Color range. Electric Orange is a gorgeous bright, dark orange shade. I have heard so many good review on this and when I swatched this in-store, the color is super pigmented and easy to apply. Unfortunately I won't be swatching this for you as I haven't plan on using this.

Maybelline Bold Matte by ColorSensational - Mat 1
Bold Matte by ColorSensational Mat 1 is a gorgeous neon pink shade. When I swatched this in-store, the lipstick shows it's very pigmented and glides on smoothly. When swatched on my hands, the neon shade appears to be not-as-scary as it looks from the tude, it's a vibrant, bold shade but in my opinion it's very wearable.

Mat 1 (left) and Electric Orange (right).

Chi Chi Cosmetics Creamy Matte Liquid Lipstick - Drama Queen
Drama Queen is an intense purple shade, very creamy and matte? Not really! While I really love the color and also enjoy the no-need-to-touch-up, stays all day formula, I don't like how it just stays creamy and not dry at all. Aren't matte lipsticks suppose to dry?

Swatches on Drama Queen on my lips.

Chi Chi Cosmetics Creamy Matte Liquid Lipstick - Crazy in Love
Crazy in Love is a gorgeous nude-ish baby pink shade, more wearable for office work areas. I am absolutely "crazy in love" with the color! But then again, the non-drying formula just... arghhhh! Yesterday I put on only one layer of the liquid lipstick in the morning and it lasted me more than 8 hours without having to touch up, all is perfect except when eating, drink or even just take a little sip of water, the liquid lipstick is everywhere!

☆ Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream - Mal-i-Boo
☆ Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream - Par-ee

Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream: Mal-i-Boo (left) and Par-ee (right).

Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream - Mal-i-Boo
If you think the Maybelline Bold Matte by ColorSensational Mat 1 I just talked about above is bright, think again. Australis Velour Lips in Mal-i-Boo is a super vibrant, bright, neon pink shade, so bright that I don't think it's that wearable. I must say thou, the staying power is amazing!

Swatches of Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream in Mal-i-Boo on my lips.

Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream - Par-ee
Par-ee is my favourite shade out of all the other lipstick shades I have shown in this haul, it's a wearable, gorgeous nude shade. While I really like the color, I dislike the drying formula. This lip cream really dries matte compare to the Chi Chi creamy matte liquid lipsticks, in fact, they dries SO fast that you will need to be quick to adjust without making a mistake. I feel like the Velourlips dries to a 'clay' finish, very drying and lots of cracking.

All beauty products were purchased from my recent Farmers haul, I hope you enjoy reading all description, mini reviews, swatches and my pictures. Sorry about the rant in the beginning of the post, I like to keep my blog positive at all times, but sometimes I just have to rant...

So tell me, which of the above products is your favourite? Have you tried any of this lipsticks & lip creams?
