Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter ♥ Pink Lemonade

When I first started my blog, I have reviewed the Revlon Lip Butter in shade Creamsicle. That was the first ever Revlon Lip Butter I own and I wasn't impressed with the product, maybe I should have been more positive on that post, but y'all know me, I can't lie and pretend a product is good when it's rubbish.

Nowadays I try to be as positive as I can and if a product is not Kay approved then I'd rather not talk about it unless if I was super looking forward to trying it out and reviewing the product.

Today I am reviewing another Revlon Lip Butter and I assure you this post is going to be 100% positive. ^-^

I bought the Revlon Pink Lemonade Colorburst Lip Butter from skatestuff on TradeMe, they sells mostly drugstore products with amazing prices; and if you purchase three or more items, they offer free shipping! I have purchased from them multiple times and they offers fast shipping and excellent customer service.

I know how expensive it is to buy makeup in New Zealand, even for drugstore products. Revlon Lip Butters are normally NZD $24.99 each, so if you're wanting to buy a few drugstore products without having to wait for weeks of delivery times from the US etc, skatestuff is the place for you.  ;)

Pink Lemonade Lip Butter is part of the Spring 2013 Pacific Coast Collection by Gucci Westman for Revlon, it was a limited edition shade when it first launched (I think?!) and now it has become a permanent shade. I believe all four lip butters from this collection is now a part of the permanent collection.

Revlon Pink Lemonade Colorburst Lip Butter comes packaged in a round shape slim silver tube with a peachy-pink color semi-transparent cap. I think the caps of the Revlon Lip Butter range are suppose to match its lip butter color in the tube. I love that it's comes in a pretty and simple packaging ~

Revlon Pink Lemonade is a sheer wash of pale pink, it lightens my natural lip color and apply smooth and evenly, the consistency is a bit wet and balmy-gel-like. Pink Lemonade worn well for one hour and while wearing this, it keeps my lips moisturize. This is pretty much a lip balm with a hint of pink in it.

Oh I must say, this may moisturize my lips while wearing but it's not as hydrating as a normal lip balm, if you are looking for something that keeps your lips super smooth and hydrating, you would rather save money and buy a normal lip balm from the grocery store. 

I absolutely adore Pink Lemonade, it's one of those lip balm that I can wear alone for that hint of color or I can wear it over a more pigmented lipstick and/or lip liner. I love the cute name, the packagings and all that, but I find that if I apply too many layers of this, it tends to cake up on my lips, like you know that feeling when you have too much foundation on...

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain ♥ Cherish Devotion

During the Auckland Big Bucket makeup sale in March, I grab two Revlon just bitten kissable balm stains for only $7.00 each. It's such a good price! If I was to purchase them in-stores, it would cost at least $20.00 each.

I bought two shades: Lovesick Passionnee and Cherish Devotion. So far I have only tried Cherish Devotion and today I am going to swatch and review it.

Revlon claims these just bitten kissable balm stains gives softer ✓, smoother lips ✓ with a flush of color ✓ that lasts hour after hour ✓ , it is a lightweight lipstain plus moisturizing balm and that 100% of women who tried it felt their lips were instantly moisturized ✗ with a soft stain of color. The balm stains does make my lips softer and smoother, but the smoothness only last for the first half hour then it starts to dry up and crack my lips; the lips color last up to nearly three hours before it starts to disappear and leave a stain.

Cherish is a pretty pink-ish purple-toned color that is good for everyday wear, while wearing this on my lips, it is showing as a more softer and sheer shade. When I first apply, it is showing as a pink-ish shade and after three hours of wearing time, the pink shade starts to disappear and leave a pink-ish purple stain.

If I remember correctly, this is the first time I try a lip product that shapes like a pen / crayon and I am actually really enjoying it! At first it was a bit un-comfortable, It was a bit awkward using a chubby pen to draw on my lips, but then I got used to it after a few use. The Revlon balm stain is easy to apply and it has a nice minty smell which I love! I like that it has a twisty bits at the end to avoid sharpening and wasting product.

Makeup Sales Haul ☆

I went to the Big Bucket Deal makeup sale yesterday and picked up a few beauty products. Some of these prices are so cheap, especially these drugstore brands lipsticks were only $5.00, so affordable I couldn't resist! I am still on a shopping ban, well kind of ~ so I didn't go absolutely crazy!

MAYBELLINE ColorSensational Popsticks in shade 020 Tropical Pink; I have been looking everywhere for these popsticks for a long time now, eBay sells them for very expensive and I don't ever see these in NZ stores so I didn't expect to find this at the makeup sale ~ So happy I finally own one of these cool things ^^ I haven't tried / swatch this yet so I can't say much but I love the fresh orange scent!

MAYBELLINE Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow in shade Painted Purple; I only realized it's been swatched / used when I opened it at home :( so disappointed I didn't check it carefully while at the makeup sale. *sigh* Most of the products there are opened and a lot of them people have swatched but when I picked up this one it was sealed so I didn't think anyone would go and use it then seal it back y'know?! Anyway, it really doesn't matter but I would just prefer a brand new one, who knows what dirty hands have dipped into this pot? :S

I finally get to try the famous Revlon Lip Butter!

Revlon ColorBurst™ Lip Butter was released how long ago...? and I have recently just bought my first lip butter, talk about being 10 years late!

I remember when Revlon first introduced their colorburst lip butter, everyone around the world was crazy about it. I remember I wanted one soooo bad! But it wasn't selling in stores here. New Zealand is always late on keeping up to trends with the world (like me), so when Revlon lip butter hits New Zealand stores, people around the world is already over this trend.

I was so excited one day while shopping knowing that the Revlon lip butter is FINALLY in stores here and I told myself I need one, I must try one to see what all the raves was about this lip butter. I went to the store and I was shocked at the price! It was something like $25.99 for ONE LIP BUTTER, like are you kidding me? I was not planning on spending that much on a lip balm / lipstick.

 

So I waited months later and finally bought my first one about two weeks ago. I bought the nude 'Creamsicle' and was expecting something like creamy nude gorgeous looking nude pumps lips. *sigh* I was so dissappointed after swatching on my hands, it was almost like a clear gloss color. It was nothing like the colors that was shown in Google images when I search 'Revlon Lip Butter Creamsicle'. When I put that into Google search it came up with like nude pump lips. Grrr I was disappointed alright.

I got to admit that this lip butter is very good looking, I am a huge lipstick lover and the look of this impress me :) I love the clean, simple packaging and the top part (I don't know what you call this thing :/) matches the color of the lipstick!

When I tried this on my lips I was also disappointed because it was not moisturising as it should be. It's more like a watery gloss and the color looks like it's going to melt on my lips. I was not happy :( I am so sad! The quality of this lip butter is no where worth $25.99!

PROS: cute simple packagaing
CONS: expensive, not moisturising as it should be, too watery, color doesn't really stay on

I was thinking that, maybe it's such bad quality because of the color I bought is 'too nude'? I don't know, maybe I should try a pink lip butter, maybe it will be different and maybe it will be a better quality than this.
