Chi Chi Viva La Diva Matte Lipstick ♥ Game On Swatches + Review

Chi Chi Cosmetics Viva La Diva Matte Lipstick: Game On

I have been using Chi Chi Cosmetics for nearly ten years now and I could say they are one of my favorites drugstore cosmetics brands, not only are they super affordable, they are also very easy to purchase in New Zealand. There is no shipping hassle or waiting for your parcel to arrive, I could easily go into Farmers, test their products in person and decide which items I want to purchase!

It seems like I hardly talk about Chi Chi these days and I believe this is the first ever Chi Chi post on my blog. I do love the brand and their products, but I much prefer some of their old products and past collections that are no longer available. I get people change, companies create new collections and all that... and since I have turned my obsession towards MAC, this is probably the reason why I don't buy much Chi Chi beauty items nowadays.

Anyway, today I want to review a lipstick that I have been loving lately, I wear it on most days I wear makeup and it pretty much last through my day at work with minimal touch-ups.

Before I go ahead with my review, thought I would talk a little about the brand; Chi Chi may have become a lot well known these days since shaaanxo raves about them all the time and the Americans are starting to really get to know the brand, but I am sure there are still some percentage of people that have never heard of the brand.

According to Chi Chi Cosmetics' site, the cosmetics brand was established in 1997, the line was started by a pharmacist name George Lambropoulos. LOL okay this looks more like I am writing a history paper than a review on my blog! Let's be... not so serious! Chi Chi started this beauty brand with a line of pastel matte nail polish range and I guess the business becomes very successful, they have created other items like lips, face, eyes products and even perfume! Chi Chi is an Australian brand by the way, I think all of their beauty products are made in Italy thou.

Chi Chi Cosmetics Viva La Diva Matte Lipstick: Game On

Chi Chi Viva La Diva Lipsticks are available in two types of textures: cream and matte (I have purchased more matte than cream, they're amazing!), seven types of color range: berries, corals, oranges, neutrals, pinks, soft pinks and reds (I tend to go for the pinks and neutrals more) and the Viva La Diva range is available in 42 shades (I currently only own two of their lipsticks from this range).

Viva La Diva is described as a non drying, very moisturizing, super saturated, ultra pigmented lipstick that will glide on effortlessly, giving you that richly coloured pout, leaving a velvety-smooth and long wearing finish.

Today I am reviewing the shade "Game On", it is described as a soft rosy pink with a matte finish. I definitely love wearing it to work everyday, it's a very office friendly color that is not too bright and not to sheer.

PACKAGING
Chi Chi Viva La Diva lipstick comes packaged in a round matte-feel tube with hot pink metallic designs printed all around. There's a transparent part on the bottom that shows the actual color of the lipstick, some says the transparent part is a lip gloss version of the lipstick and I have tried it myself, it is a lip gloss but it smells and taste like badly burned plastic which I don't think it's safe to use.

TEXTURE & APPLICATION
Game On is a matte finish and the texture is very soft and creamy, it is a very different matte finish to other matte lipsticks I have came across. Viva La Diva Game On glides on my lips smoothly and evenly, even on days that I have dry lips, the lipstick doesn't apply patchy or turns out chalky at all. Usually when I don't exfoliate before applying a matte lipstick, it always goes on patchy and wears uncomfortable; but for Viva La Diva, it's a different story. Sometimes I ran out of time getting ready in the morning, I am in a rush and don't have time to exfoliate, I would just apply the lipstick straight to chappy lips. It still glides on smoothly despite dry lips and the lipstick still looks gorgeous, not patchy, not cracky; so I am super impressed!

SCENTS
Viva La Diva has a light flora scents.

LONG-LASTING LIPSTICK
The longevity of Viva La Diva lipstick is amazing ♥ ^^ It requires minimal touch-ups during the day, or no touch-ups at all! Game On is very pigmented, so it lasted up to six hours for me, then it gradually fades into lip lines within the next hour; when the lipstick fades, it also leaves a light stain.

During the wearing time, Viva La Diva bleeds and transfer a little, no biggie! It wears nicely on me and I absolutely adore it!

WHAT I LOVE
♥ cute and simple packaging, great combination of color and designs
♥ amazing pigmentation, nice and creamy texture
♥ matte finish that applies smoothly even on dry chapped lips
♥ long-lasting, worn well for six hours, require minimal touch-ups during the day

WHAT I DISLIKE
</3 fades into lip lines after six hours wearing time, making it look so awkward!
</3 quite, expensive... kind of out of my price range for a drugstore lippie
