MAC Rocky Horror Picture Show Lipstick Collection + Swatches

MAC Rocky Horror Picture Show Lipsticks Collection

Let me be honest with you guys, I don't even know what the Rocky Horror Picture Show is all about until I search it up on Google. I grew up watching cute cartoon series like Doraemon (ドラえもん 小叮当), Sailor Moon, Chibi Maruko Chan (ちびまる子ちゃん / 櫻桃小丸子) and TV shows like Pearl Princess (还珠格格); and also I was not born in New Zealand or an European country, I was not bought up in an oldie life-style environment...  So I guess it is normal that I am not familiar with this kind of film. A lot of times people asks me if I am a fan of such and such old music or if I have seen this super old film and I am just, totally clueless!

MAC has recently released a Rocky Horror Picture Show collection and the lipsticks were sold out with ten minutes! Like how crazy is that?! I seriously did not expect this, I knew there were a lot of people raving about this collection before its release date; but not everyone is a fan right? and I am sure there's a percentage of people in this world have never heard of RHPS before, just like me. So yes I was very surprised it sold out so quick and by the time I have decided to place an order, all were sold out ~ haha so sad! I end up getting all four lipsticks at NZ prices, they were $45 each! *sohh expensive*

Anyway, you may be wondering why was I so excited about this collection even thou I am clueless about the RHPS?! Well... a) It's a Limited Edition collection and I am obsessed with LE products! b) The packaging is so sexy, in a creepy vampy way.

MAC Rocky Horror Picture Show Lipsticks Collection
I am not gonna lie, I wasn't a fan of these packaging when pictures of the collection first starts making its appearance on the internet. I thought it's all fake, like someone has played around and created these pictures on Photoshop; lol I have quite an... imagination... sometimes ;)

MAC RHPS lipsticks comes packaged in a black inside-out tube with red Rocky Horror Picture Show "rocky" font printed in red and a red biting lips on top. There's black and white designs of the characters from the film printed on the inside of the lipstick box, which I loveeeee ~ I thought it's very unique.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the cult classic musical tribute to horror and sci-fi movies, kicks off the celebration of its 40th anniversary with an untamed MAC collaboration, featuring an outrageous collection of hues and products specially designed to recreate the looks of your favourite characters from the 1975 film. <-- I wasn't even born then! Transform yourself into a sex-swapping mad scientist, heroic newlywed, alien from Transylvania or even hunky Rocky Horror himself, <-- sooo... Rocky Horror is a person??? with an orgy of color worthy of any midnight mayehm at Frankenstein Palace. <-- I hear people talk about Frankenstein every Halloween and I think I have seen pictures of him, a big guy? I don't know >.< I don't even know who Frankenstein is! Oh goshh I feel so lame not knowing anything hahah.

imageMAC RHPS Sin Lipstick is described as a "deep dark blue red" with a Matte finish. I am pretty sure MAC Sin is permanent, I have seen a few bloggers talks about this before this collection release.

imageMAC RHPS Strange Journey Lipstick is described as a "yellowish brick red" with a Matte finish. It looks like an orange red in person, but it appears as a bright red in swatches.

imageMAC RHPS Oblivion Lipstick is described as a "vivid blueish-red" with an Amplified finish. I am not familiar with Amplified finish as I don't own any in that formula. I love that the lipstick looks starry from the tube ~ This is my absolute favourite out of all four lipsticks!

imageMAC RHPS Frank-N-Furter Lipstick is described as a "deep raspberry wine" with a Matte finish.

Beauty Empties #3 ♡ ft. Hourglass, Bihada Ichizoku Mask + More [2014]

Many products were mentioned in my September beauty empties post, but this month I have only finished up a few things, mostly samples and facial mask. Ever since I started writing these empties post, I have been encouraging myself to use up the products that I have already opened and really just to remind myself not to waste money and waste products. So far I am doing great and I am starting to really enjoy collecting empties products each month and write about my opinions on them.

I hope you guys are enjoying these type of monthly post as much as I enjoy writing about them ^^ ~

I got this cleansing oil gel from the Memebox Herbal Cosmetics Superbox. It claims to clean skin deep into pores without irritation, nourishes, moisturize and sooths the skin after washing. This herb cleansing gel is suitable for all skin type and it contains organic argan oil that makes skin vital and elastic.

This is a 100ml bottle and it last me approximately two months, I have been using this every night in the shower and I really enjoyed the gel texture and the smell is very fresh and nice. Not sure if the claims on deep cleanse into pores is true, but it really soften my skin after each use and I haven't had a break-out or itchy face since I have used this herb cleansing oil gel.

I would love to use this product again, but I would not re-purchase it myself.

I purchased the Philosophy Hooray for Sorbet set from Nordstrom ages ago and it contains three shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath in three scents: watermelon sorbet, mango sorbet and green apple sorbet. I have already finished both mango and watermelon ones which was mentioned in my previous beauty empties post.

I love these Philosophy shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath, but I must say LUSH's shower gel is 10 times better if I compare the two. I love that Philosophy's ones can be used as a shampoo and shower gel, but their scents aren't as full on, stays on your skin like LUSH does.

Philosophy is overall an amazing brand, I have tried some of their skincare products and they have really impressed me a lot. I would love to use this again and I would definitely re-purchase if they ever becomes available in New Zealand. I think having to pay for a high amount of postage price is what really put me off buying Philosophy shower gels, these are some heavy stuff and YouShop charge by weight, last time I bought these Philosophy shower gels nearly cost me an arm and a leg!

Once you have jumped on The Body Shop body butter train, it's very hard to get off ~ I used to think that these body butters are so overrated until one day I bought one to see what all the hype is about and I tried to convince myself it's not that great and it's just another body butter... Obviously I failed and I became sooo obsessed, I want to own all the flavors there are available!

Last time I tried the Grapefruit Body Butter and I didn't really like it at first, I guess the smell was too strong and it kind of put me off a bit, but then I end up really liking it ~ This time I have tried the Mango Body Butter and I absolutely LOVE IT! I love all things mango, whether it's the real fruit mango or man-made mango, I lurrrve it~ Mango Body Butter smells more like candy than mango, it has that very sweet candy-land smell and it is so moisturizing! The Body Shop body butters tends to be a bit more thick and sticky than other brands body butters, what I love most about their body butter is that they are sticky, but they made your skin super duper smooth and the softness last for a long long time!

I would definitely re-purchase this and I highly recommend it to those who has dry skin and to those who aims for silky smooth and candy-like skin.

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer claims to help minimise the appearance of large pores and fine lines, and preps skin for makeup application while extending its durability. This little 10ml travel size Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer lasted me through four whole months of everyday wear, it's very impressive as it's only 10ml and I didn't expect it to last that long.

I have been using a few Hourglass products and it is a very VERY EXPENSIVE brand but their products are top-notch! Every products I have tried from their brand worth every cents spent. The Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer really does what it claims to do, I have huge pores and I have tried many primers that claims to minimise pores, but just didn't work for me. This primer does minimise pores for me, made my face look flawless and foundation goes on smoothly. When I wear this Hourglass primer with NARS Sheer Glow Foundation, my makeup literally last through 8 hours without my face being shiny or makeup sliding off.

I am currently using the Benefit That Gal Primer as I ran out of the Hourglass one and it's just not the same, I switch between the Benefit one and Shiseido Pore Smoothing Corrector, both made my makeup slides off during the day and I had to touch-up my face during lunch hours at work. I feel like once you have used something so amazing, nothing else can compete!

Currently waiting for the full size of Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer to become available at Mecca Cosmetica ^^ can't live without this baby! I highly recommend this product to those with oily skin that just can't find the right primer to make their makeup stay all day.

I got this moisturizer from my first Memebox: Superbox #1; this product claims to revitalize skin and soothes problem areas like dark spots, redness and acne problems. Also it claims to clear breakouts, improve skin tone and help protect skin from impurities.

I have used this for month and I have noticed there's less breakouts and redness around my nose, it did seem to improve my skin tone abit ~ I use this as a night cream and while I love how soft this moisturizer made my face feels, it is very sticky and wet once I have apply it on my face.

I enjoyed my time using this goddess cream and I would use it again, but I would not re-purchase it myself.

This was the first proper hair mask I have tried, I got this pack from the Memebox Rapunzel box which I will write an un-boxing post next week. There's two step to complete for this hair mask, you first have to apply the cream to your hair then put on the shower-cap-like mask and massage your head, wait ten minutes then rinse off.

I actually really enjoyed using this hair mask because of the shower cap, I liked how I was able to wash my face, brush my teeth, wash my body and do other things while I wait for the hair mask to do its work; instead of having to wait in the shower for ten minutes and did nothing just to avoid getting my hair wet.

After I rinsed off, I towel-dried my hair then blow dried my hair and my hair felt so soft and silky! I would definitely re-purchase this!

Pretty sure I have mentioned the Choosy Lip Mask in all of my beauty empties post, I also did a review showing a before and after of using this lip mask, click here if you're interested in a read ~ These lip mask are so amazing! They made my lips feel so soft after each use, no crack no lines and lipsticks goes on soooo smoothly! Also these comes in many flavors and each smells amazeball~

I re-purchase this every time I visit Ippondo, they have them for sale 10 pieces for $15!

Last time I visited Ippondo, I bought some of these Bihada Ichizoku face mask to try ~ What really caught my eyes was the cute anime girls on the packaging! It's wayyyyyy to kawaii not to have! I am new to the brand and I am not familiar with Bihada Ichizoku's products, but it's safe to say I am in love with the face mask! Every time after I used one of these face mask, my face would instantly felt very cooling and fresh. These face mask are very moisturizing and it keeps your face very hydrating and soft.

I would definitely re-purchase!

This was one of those foil packs sample that came with my packages when I order things from beautynetkorea, roseroseshops or eBay ~ I still have plenty to go through and I tried to use up the samples before I purchase the real thing. I did enjoyed this avocado rich cream, it made my face super soft and it smells nice.

I will be buying the full size when I have finish all the sample packs.

Have you tried any of these products mentioned in my October beauty empties post?

The Yeon Style Y Glossy Fit Crayon Lipstick ♥ Strawberry 01 // Review + Swatches

The Yeon Style Y Glossy Fit Crayon Lipstick
The Yeon Style Y Glossy Fit Crayon Lipstick
The Yeon Style Y Glossy Fit Crayon Lipstick in Strawberry 01

Today I am reviewing this gorgeous lip crayon I have been sooo obsessed with lately! I got this from one of my latest Memebox, the Pinkaholic Superbox which you can click here to read my initial thoughts.

I am not familiar with the brand The Yeon, nor could I find many information about the brand on Google when I searched online; except for a few Memebox unboxing blog posts. I assume this is a drug-store brand, well-known only in Korea, not anywhere else.

There is not a lot of information on the lip crayon box, a lot of the instruction and formulas are printed in Korean >.< except for a little description which says "Style-Y tells you the makeup story of an attractive woman, who goes after the unique and trendy sense and sophisticated style"... Okay ~ interesting!

The Yeon has described the Style Y Glossy Fit Crayon Lipstick as an automatic type lip crayon of natural color and moisture. It claims to apply smoothly, gives a glossy finish with clear color that makes lips moist and lively and it is formulated with moisturizing ingredients to keep lips moist and shiny.

The Yeon Style Y Glossy Fit Crayon Lipstick in Strawberry 01

The Yeon Style Y Glossy Fit Crayon Lipstick comes packaged in a white plastic pencil / crayon style with a twisted end, there's no worrying about wasting products from sharpening the pencil. The crayon comes with a clear plastic cap which hardly fit the crayon itself, I mean it fits but it's very loose, so there's a big chance it will get messy travelling in your handbag. If you own the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils you will know what I mean, the caps for those jumbo eye pencils are very loose and they break so easily.

I think there are four colors available from the Style Y Glossy Fit Crayon range; I had a look on their website and I couldn't find any information due to not being able to understand Korean writings and also their page would not load property so it crash every time I click on the makeup section. I found the four color options through some Google searching, there's a pink, orange, red and purple. I got the color Strawberry 01, it's like the perfect pink.

This crayon lipstick has a light fruity scent, it took me awhile to realize what it is heheh the whole time I was thinking... "it smells like my childhood" then it clicks! It smells exactly like these peaches gummy fruits lollies I used to love so much as a kid! The smell is yummy and it disappear within five minutes.

Style Y Glossy Fit Crayon applies uneven every single time! This is one of the main reasons why I dislike crayon lip products. It also applies patchy and leaves dry flakes in the center of my lips each time, even thou I have exfoliate and apply a lot of lip balms, dry flakes still appears, then I would have to pick them off, *gross* ~ This crayon lipstick also sink into lip lines and it smears around because it is so glossy.

Strawberry 01 is quite pigmented, it allows you to wear it sheer or you can add a lot of layers to build up the more pinky color. The downside of adding loads of layers is that since it sink into lip lines, the more layer you add, the more obvious lip lines it appears.

This can be worn alone or you can wear it on top of a lipstick for that extra glossy look.

Since this crayon lipstick is very glossy and it moves around the lip easily, I was expecting it only able to last for one hour max; I was wrong! This crayon lipstick may be glossy and messy, but the longevity is amazeball! I have applied it while getting reading for work in the morning, had my breakfast one hour later and it pretty much just stays there! Still looking glossy, man I was so impressed! The color only starts fading away before my lunch break, it wore for approximately four hours and that is good enough for a glossy type of lip product, don't you think? ^-^

Oh and I also want to point out that during my four hours of wearing the lip crayon, my lips feels very moisturizing!

The Yeon Style Y Glossy Fit Crayon Lipstick in Strawberry 01

Despite the uneven application and the patchy look, I still very enjoy using the Style Y Glossy Fit Crayon Lipstick. I think the childhood peachy gummy scent must have won me over! I was also very impressed with the longevity of the product, I really did not expect it to last as long as four hours, especially for a glossy type. Strawberry 01 is such a girly pink and I love that the color is not over the top nor too sheer that it doesn't show, the lipstick the quite pigmented and it is very moisturizing.

I would usually tell you guys where you can purchase this product I have reviewed, but this one I am just seriously, clueless! I received this in the Memebox Pinkaholic Superbox and if you purchased that box, lucky you ^^ cause you get to try this lipstick, if you didn't buy that box, you might be able to get this lip crayon from eBay... There is also a Singaporean beauty website that sells this product, but since I haven't had any experience with their shop, I don't want to risk putting a link and have you guys scam!

Anyway, I rate this product:

MAC Proenza Schouler Pinkfringe Lipstick ♡ Review + Swatches

What is everyone up to for this long waited long weekend?! Today I am reviewing the MAC Proenza Schouler lipstick in Pinkfringe, for those of you who aren't doing anything exciting for this Labour weekend, hope you enjoy my review ^^ ~

MAC Proenza Schouler Lipstick
MAC Proenza Schouler Lipstick in Pinkfringe

MAC Pinkfringe is described as a vivid flamingo pink with a Satin finish, I have always thought of it as a bright, very pigmented pink and I was afraid of wearing it to work as I thought it would be too bright for the office. Surprisingly this is a very soft color, it goes on sheer and you can build up the color to a more vibrant pink; I have been wearing it for sometimes now and I love how it goes well with my complexion and the formula is very moisturizing.

I may be crazy in love with MAC products, but I am still learning about their product finish etc... For those of you who are not sure what a Satin finish is, it is described as a color-rich, soft satin, semi-matte and it conditions while adding intense color.

I have previously reviewed three other lipsticks from the Proenza Schouler collection (Mangrove, Woodrose & Primrose) and each lipstick has given me a great impression; I went from not liking the packaging at all to being absolutely obsess with it. I was only able to get the four lipsticks from this collection, all other items were sold out too quick; overall I love this and it is one of the best collections MAC has released in 2014.

MAC Proenza Schouler Lipstick in Pinkfringe

Pinkfringe is such a cute name, don't you think? ^-^

Looking from the lipstick tube I thought this was going to be one of those bright, almost neon Candy Yum Yum like' pink, I was afraid of wear it out, especially to work, in an office environment; but I really wanted to see how this lipstick wears on me and plus, I haven't given it much love since I bought it home... So the first time I tried it, I applied the lipstick lightly and it appeared as a sheer pink ~ Pinkfringe is quite pigmented, the good thing is that you can apply it sheer or you can apply as normal for a more opaque coverage.

MAC Proenza Schouler lipstick come housed in a square tube with metallic look and ombre style designs. I was not feeling the packaging when MAC first released this collection, but the more I look at it, the more I fell in love! Especially when I finally own these lipsticks, they are so beautiful in person! The metallic look tends to leave lots of finger prints, but the whole lipstick tube is designed nicely, The cap opens easily and close tightly, so there is no worrying of the lipstick cap falling out and smear all over your handbag when you carry it around.

I have come to realized (after testing and writing so many lips products reviews) that I am not one of those lucky ones with an all-time moisturized lips girl. So before I test out / wear a lip product nowadays, I always made sure to exfoliate (I use LUSH lip scrub), apply lip balms and made sure my lips is silky smooth. Pinkfringe applies smoothly and evenly, it does shows the lines, but not very obviously.

Pinkfringe is long wearing, well, longer than I have expected; seeing as I could apply it sheer, when I first started wearing it, I thought it could only last me two hours max. Nope! Pinkfringe always pass the lunch break test ^-^ ~ I don't eat teeny tiny food for my lunch, I always have fried rice, pasta, wraps etc... So a lot of times the lipsticks I have on would always transfer to my food or my cup. Pinkfringe only transfer to food a little, but it always stays put and last through my lunch break. Overall Pinkfringe wore well for six hours for me.

MAC Proenza Schouler Lipstick Pinkfringe Swatch
MAC Proenza Schouler Lipstick Pinkfringe Lip Swatch

MAC x Proenza Schouler is a Limited Edition collection and it was released in April this year (2014), the lipsticks are still available to purchase on both MAC website and Nordstrom ($22.00).

I love Pinkfringe ♥ Not only is the color wearable, it is very moisturizing during the wearing time, it does not dry out my lips, the packaging is beautiful and most importantly, it does not turn my teeth yellow!

Do you own this lipstick? Are you a fan of the MAC Proenza Schouler collection?
